Why do people hate Autistics??

I have an overwhelming feeling of discrimination because of my invisible disablity. My life has been very hard, filled with bullying, hatred, and disappointment. I've never been able to understand why people hate those who are different from the majority.
What is with the hate the minority crowd? Isn't life better all around for everyone when you accept diversity? Why pick on the little guy, in fact, why place blame at all; what does placing blame accomplish?

its called survival of the fittest. when people had to hunt for their food, people like us were a burden. you shun the burden and eventually they die. human nature at its purest is what this is; uncaring, unforgiving, unrelenting. i have learned to blend in and step on others as they would step on me given half the chance.

I would say the exact opposite. There is a theory that links ASD to the "hunter gene".
Quote:
Hartmann notes that most or all humans were nomadic hunter gatherers for many thousands of years, but that this standard gradually changed as agriculture developed in most societies, and more people worldwide became farmers. Over many years, most humans adapted to farming cultures, but Hartmann speculates that people with ADHD retained some of the older hunter characteristics.
A key component of the theory is that the proposed "hyperfocus" aspect of ADHD is a gift or benefit. The theory also explains the distractibility factor in ADHD individuals and their short attention span, along with various other characteristics, such as apathy towards social norms, poor planning and organizing ability, distorted sense of time, impatience, and impulsiveness. It is argued that in the hunter-gatherer cultures that preceded farming societies, hunters needed hyperfocus more than gatherers.

As far as why we are hated, i think it has to do with our reluctance and/or difficulty in conforming.

That is prevalent amongst nearly all animals. Some years ago, I saw Animal Planet. The scientists sent a robot shark into a coral reef. A real shark tried to play with the robot. When it didn't get any response, it teared the robot shark apart.
That's a quite frightening but very apt analogy.

Love that analogy too.
You know, hate involves many different emotions, including anger, sadness, confusion and envy.
They hate anything that's different.
They hate what they see as: undersexed, unsocial, different in any manner.
You have to have sex as often they do, or something's wrong with you.
You have to be as social as they are, or something's wrong with you.
You have to be responsive to body language, or something's wrong with you.
Avoid responding to body language is actually a polite thing. Many people would rather others ignore their body language so that they don't feel even more in the spotlight. Example: blushing can be construed as body language, but everyone knows it's rude and obnoxious to point out when someone's blushing.
I'd like to plant any idea in everyone's head, that a lot of the hate when it comes to hating those flavored with Asperger's, is the strong possibility of envy.
That envy comes from their ignorance about what they're seeing when they Aspie in action, and it comes from their own insecurities.
By insecurities, I mean, that when your Aspie in the office is confronted by something he or she is doing that bothers the other person, and the Aspie responds with "Your perfume makes me sneeze" or "Your breath is raunchy" or "Why do waste so much of Martha's clock, you spend more time on personal matters and office melodrama than you do on Martha's work" or "Sorry I'm staring, I just thought it was weird you were flirting with that dude when you're married."
Just the idea that her husband could have been in the room at the time the Aspie said it really scares her, because the Aspie said it and could have said with the husband standing right there.
Honesty bothers them, and they don't understand why the office Aspie feels comfortable making those statements. They also feel like they have no control over the situation because, as they see it, they started the conversation in the first place.
They can't stand to have their own stim pointed out, either. Who cares if Angie-the-Aspie flapped her hands a little when she got off the phone with the angry customer? Nola-the-NT has this thing where, when she's upset, she pulls on her bottom lip, or runs her fingers through her air, or bounces her leg. But...she ain't Aspie, so that's okay I guess.
They get the idea that because Angie doesn't respond to body language, she may not care about that person's feelings. When Nola thinks that, she feels weird inside because...isn't Angie, or anybody else of Nola's choosing, supposed to put Nola's feelings first and foremost, always? Well...what's wrong with Nola that she can't get Angie to care more about her than she does about herself? Why isn't Nola special? Nola thought she was special! How dare Angie not think that Nola's special?!
Then, they feel a little crazy and embarrassed. Well, that's gonna freak out the office NT, isn't it, that up against the "disabled" Angie, Nola feels...I don't know...diminished? Not good enough? Not Bertha-Better-N-You? How sad for the NT. Maybe Nola ought to just "go get laid" because "getting laid" solves all your problems and if you have any problems at all it's because you're not getting laid.

I love reading and learning anything about science, including species communication. But, honestly, I got about one-third through that article and then majorly skimmed. The article seems to be written by a pretty intelligent person with lots of life experience with other people, but I just could not keep reading it. Maybe it was the way it seemed to run on and on without advancing the point and, at the same time, jumped around from thought to thought. I just wanted to give MY opinion on the article.
