In 2009, I was told by a shrink to research Aspergers and see how I felt about it. As I did I was overwhelmed with IMO-tion (Imo is my nickname) because I found a place called home, said shrink wasn't entirely convinced and so I was left with serious doubt. I kinda just left it there until a week ago, when the pressures of work, marriage, fatherhood all seemed to be ganging up on me and I could no longer fake normal. That's when I started exploring it again and did the tests scored as stated above.

Side note: As I'm typing this my daughters (aged 4 and 2) are playing teacher around me and much as I love these kids but they are irritating the sh!t out of me, because they have these imaginary bloody objects and if I choose the wrong one they get angry at me, like seriously?! Yes, NT I know, I know, they're kids blah, blah, I'm an Aspie and I'm trying to connect with my fellow Aspies and they are getting angry at me cos I keep choosing the wrong damn imaginary crayon.

Moving on, just wanted to add my 2 cents worth and say "Hi" so Hi... And I is Aspie... Hope to hear from you all soon...

I don't exactly get the hunting aspect. What hunting is the test writing referring to? I do hunt with a camera though...looking for photo ops to shoot. My scores are below for this test.

Is anyone else on here curious how NT's score how they score? When I take the online tests, for most of the questions, I don't see a choice...the answer is plainly the one I've chosen. However, my mother took the test once, and I have no idea how she was so different from mine (she is DEFINITELY an NT).

I take the high NT score as evidence that all my self-training and hard work over the last few years is really paying off. It's true that with enough practice, situations that used to be terrifying have become tolerable or even normal. Wow, it's really amazing to think back and realize how much I've changed!

I wonder what this score means?
I see myself as NT (with very little interest in social things). Also dating a professionally diagnosed aspie who makes me feel so 'normal'.

I got an aspie score of 131 of 200 vs. a neurotypical (non-autistic) score of 91 of 200, with a conclusion of “very likely an Aspie”.

My obviously neurotypical sister got an aspie score of 34 of 200 vs.a neurotypical (non-autistic) score of 180 of 20, with a conclusion of "very likely neurotypical".

We are both in our early sixties with no mental illness diagnoses, if that matters.

I dont get why, when someone has asked for links to tests, everyone is giving their scores.

Since so many people are asking about the "hunting" aspects I thought I would chime in, since I exhibit almost all the signs of that. I can't really explain why I love doing these things; they're just things I've always loved to do. They make me feel more like myself when I do them, and I get this image in my head like I'm completely alone in a large, silent place where I belong. I love walking on my toes. When I'm by myself I will pretty often walk a circuit around the house on my toes, or walk back and forth across a room over and over like that. I find myself staring at creeks and streams whenever I'm by them (there's one I pass every day on the bus and I love it!) Also I love jumping over things -- if there's a small curb or something I like to jump onto it, or if there's a drop of a few feet or so I really like to jump off it. And traps! I've always loved thinking about traps. When I was a kid I used to list different types of traps to myself all the time, and I would construct traps that I would play my My Little Ponies were setting to catch Barbies, haha (I hated having toys that looked like people). Also, animal calls. Whenever an animal makes a noise around me I just automatically imitate it, or at least I try to (or I try not to, if I'm around NT people). My two best friends are so much like this too, and we'll spend a ridiculously long time sitting around imitating animal noises at each other.

With innocent kids I have high tolerance, with adults I can't handle much......is that a 1?

I didn't know about Aspergers until a online friend who is aspie gave me a link to the Wired quiz. I scored a 28 and then began to do research into the subject. I have been diagnosed with OCD, generalized anxiety disorder, and depression but aspergers makes it all understandable.

I scored, what was it, 180 something Aspergers, 13 NT.
I haven't been officially diagnosed, as I'm too nervous about bringing the subject up to my parents who think I'll get better if I Just Go Out And Make Some Friends.
I don't see how it could be anything but Aspergers, but until I get an official diagnosis when I'm living on my own..

I am new to this group and am not officially diagnosed yet (although therapist mentioned it on Monday so I have been doing research and taking tests). For me, the hunting manifested initially as data mining (I was a data analyst for a long time). When I started scuba diving a while back, it was "hunting" for unusual fish and nudibranchs to see (not kill or collect). When I got a digital camera, the hunting was for the perfect shot.
