I just put in an offer for a house. In the next couple of months, this is most definitely going to become my newest obsession as well. Sooooooo looking forward to it!

Current obsession? Aspergers and autistic spectrum disorders. Tangentially, I am also studying other disorders of the brain to learn better what makes it tick and so that I can have intelligent conversations about it.

i just got a neat bit of software called roland r-mix which is a fascinating way to edit sound visually, to isolate the individual elements of a sound mix [it works even in mono] and rechannel them/repan them differently in a new stereo mix. this can be used to convert old monophonic recordings into genuine stereo ones even. fascinating :)

Right now it's acoustic steal guitars. I'm especially fascinated by how much tension guitar strings can withstand.

I recently experimented with steel strings. Boy they can withstand a lot of tension.

it takes mega callouses on the fingertips to be able to withstand that much tension.

32yo
I'm interested in almost everything. Sometimes my interests make it hard to get things done. Everyone who knows me always says I'm VERY observant.

Since I was maybe 4 or 5 I've always known which way north, east, south, west is. I'm fantastic with maps and geography. I love turning wrenches on my 4x4's, road trips, 4-wheeling, camping, mountain biking, nature etc. Generally speaking, I love efficiency, re-purposing, and customizing things in every aspect of my life. I love seeking and finding patterns and also comparing and contrasting cultures.

Just a few minutes ago I was watering my vegetable garden and found some hyper-aggressive ants farming aphids on one of my aspen trees. Of course, when I was done I had to come inside and discover what species of ant this was and investigate them since they were so aggressive almost wanting to jump on me from the tree and hanging completely off the leaves. I've always loved watching ants and bees work.

I read incessantly. Prob 99.999999% non fiction. I watch zero sitcom/fictional tv. I guess I might watch some Seinfeld or Curb now and then. I watch very few movies, the fictional movies I do enjoy are typically nihilistic and/or ironic (Cool Hand Luke, Fight Club, Big Lebowski, etc). Sometimes I might watch odd cartoons like Metalocalypse or Ren and Stimpy. The last purposely fictional book I read was maybe 3 years ago. The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula le Guin, in hindsight its probably a very good AS book and maybe the only book I've ever read that was written by a woman.

My job is computer coding and modeling. I love problem solving.
dogs
metal(music)
home brewing beer
linux
sport of all kinds
economics
science
pot
documentaries
podcasts
WP forums recently

Wikipedia, Google, and Twitter have exacerbated every aspect of all my interests

jeez, I gotta add this after the fact. I've been completely and totally addicted to capsaicin since I was about 7.
