Disclaimer: I didn't read the whole thread.
I think the key thing is communication. I've told my boss and some close colleagues about my issues. They don't all understand but at least they have a clue.

For me the stimming makes it so much easier to focus and that means that I feel more comfortable and can handle all kind of situations.

I pull my ear, stutter, repeat words, walk around instead of sitting down most of the time, react to certain noises most people can’t even hear while other things like door bells or fire alarms I don’t react at all to.

Lights where a big problem so now I wear a hat or sun glasses.
Touching things or people or myself (in a respectful way)
Jump if exited (even in business meetings)
Sing talk more then actually talking because then I don’t stutter.
Always doing something with my hands while listening to others and need to stand still.
Usually I inform everyone in my sorrounding that this is just how I am.

I tend to stare people in the eyes a lot for long period of times that can make people uncomfortable in public or think it’s flirting so sometimes can be awkward but still easy to explain.

I think if being direct polite and smile most things are ok :)
And the more people start stimming in public the more acceptable it will become.

If people decide to be as*holes about it we should stand up for ourselves because stimming doesn’t hurt anyone but to keep it all inside and start boiling could.

Funny thing is that most people are so self absorbed they are not even gonna notice your stimming. I stim and stutter a lot and many of my friends and house mates didn’t know for years.
It’s like how people start thinking of an answer before you even finished talking. I think it’s mechanical in most people to ignore small unimportant things like someone’s stimming.

We just been told to much to act “normal” while growing up. But normal doesn’t exist and normal doesn’t equal good behaviour.

It is much easier to do it if you get a job with your own private office.

Stimming is everything to me. I can't survive without it.
