Finally I don't feel so alone!! ! I though I was the only one who didn't sit up front! That's why I don't get in the car with people around my own age or teenagers that drive because they don't understand me and think I'm weird because I don't sit up front! Of course they're NT so they wouldn't understand! I feel older adults understand me better than young adults do!

This is true of me too. Though if I am the only passenger; I have to sit up front. But with more people, they always think I am courteously giving them the passenger seat. xD

Oh even if I'm the only passenger I still sit in the back but most other only passengers sit up front.

I can drive and when I do I am a good, safe driver.

However, I found it a challenge to learn to drive and it took a long time for the process of controlling the car to become automatic.

I find driving incredibly stressful though, due to the other traffic - and the fact that the other drivers don't necessarily observe all the rules ... not even necessarily in a "bad way" ... like if it's their right of way they sometimes stop to let me go first; I realise they are trying to be courteous but stuff like that just confuses me and throws me for the rest of the journey because I'll want to analyse the situation but know I can't because I need to concentrate on driving ...

I have basically quit driving now unless it is absolutely essential. We even moved house to allow this so now I have most bus routes in the city coming within 10 minutes walk from the house and I can walk to most places I want to go regularly within an hour. I am much less stressed now.

I drive, but just side streets. Freeways just scare me and I need some type of anxiety med
so I don't drive whom ever is driving nuts with my worry.

When I travel out of town, I like to be as efficient and as quick as possible. So it's 70Mph ALL the way - unless the speed limit is lower.

I had a little accident a couple weeks ago. If anything I was annoyed at the damage and inconvenience. Still - got it fixed now, just trying to find the week point as to why that happened. I think I have the answer now...

I have driven once since 2005. I have stopped all together since I do not feel save in traffic at all, I get easily confused and I totally suck at estimating distance, especially while parking.

I love to drive, it's one of the only times I'm happy and relaxed.

I like driving, which is just as well given the distances i'm currently doing.
It's never presented any particular problems to me, but i don't like having to hold conversations at all while I am driving.

I've always enjoyed driving, but I've never found it easy.

I had to drive all over town yesterday and now I am exhausted. Post driving exhaustion.
Not only that but there were four people in the car with me and that is intense. Responsible for the safety of four people plus myself. But if I don't continue to drive I will be giving in to the tendency to give in to the weakness. :?

I drive when I have to, but I find it very hard to pay attention. I often just zone out, I've crashed once because of this.. So Im planning of just sticking to cities with good public transportation.

I don't mind driving in country areas and areas I know well, but have problems driving in areas I don't know and in major cities. I have trouble trying to process where everyone is going and where I need to be, and start worrying I will upset someone by doing the wrong thing. If I am in heavy traffic I can't have any music on because the noise is too distracting, and would probably have trouble with other people in the car wanting to talk too.

I also had some issues with driving a manual car, the gear changes were a bit too much with having to concentrate on where I was driving at the same time - I drive an automatic now, and mostly drive places I know only. A GPS has also been really good for new places, as I can see where I am going in advance, and if I don't feel I can make a turn it will sort it out for me so I don't need to be as anxious about that.

I get bored driving very very quickly. Not enough to do. Turn wheel, look at road, turn wheel, look at road, indicators .... on and on.

The scenery is good though. The houses passing, the people around, the landscape... that couple, what's their life like? Who made that field like that?

So now I'm not looking out the windscreen. Much more interesting.

People tell me I'm a rubbish and dangerous driver.

I think I might be :?

Boredom is always a problem. Music helps.

Yes, it can. Thank you.

I used to find that I drove better when I had to concentrate. Driving on fast highways through cities. Driving fast elsewhere. But that was also when I was young and foolish. Not a good idea.

I've recently trained myself to drive slowly and cautiously.
