TBH in most cases it's really the men being 'exploited' as they're paying hand over fist just to watch some lass gyrate in the nude. You'd think some of them had never seen women before.

nobody's making them go there. they have to make an active decision to do so.

Did you not see the inverted commas? If anything, the women are by far getting the better deal out of it.

I wouldn't ever go to a place like that - too much common sense. ;)

They're not really being exploited but I wouldn't see it as a good deal, put it that way. The same applies with prostitution. ;)

Having said that, though, clip joints are exploitative to men and should be closed down.

I really feel you for you hun.
I think he's out of order, especially as you were also invited and he lied to you.
My boyfriend and I have been together for about 2 1/2years and he would never disrespect me by going to watch strippers. In the past he has been invited to such evenings and turned the invitations down. He has always been honest with me about the fact that he has been invited to the event. He said he told the other guys he wouldn't be going because he has a lovely girl at home that he loves and is loyal to, and they could think/say what they liked about him (wuss, under the thumb or whatever) but his choice was made and they had to respect that.

If I was in your position I would ask myself, why does he feel the need to go to strip clubs and why would he lie about the invite?

P.S. If you would feel comfortable with it and it's stripping he wants why not do a "private show" for him at home?

I had to smile at the irony of a strip joint excluding a guy for showing off too much leg. :P What a wonderful, sexually-liberated society we live in.

There is no need to be threatened by your man going to strip club.
Men, are visually stimulated for the most part (there are exceptions)
Chances are, he will come home all turned on and give you a pleasant night ;)

When most men go to a place like that they never even consider any form of a relationship with the dancers. It's just something stimulating to look at.

The only time you should be concerned is if he is going to them on a regular basis. But the occasional visit to a strip club for the purpose of "having fun with the guys" is nothing to be worried about.

Myself, I had a fascination with strip clubs back in my 20's but I quickly lost interest. I felt like I was the one being taken advantage of. The last time I was at a strip club over 10 years ago, I walked out thinking "dang! I just got robbed by a naked women!"

I've gone to a strip club on my own decision once, it was for my brother turning 18, I'm not sure if that's a proper initiation into adulthood now.

Strippers themselves can make hundreds of dollars on a good night, but also have to pay a stage fee, and often are given quotas for selling drinks (they have to sweet talk patrons into buying them drinks). I usually ask them about this stuff when buying them drinks. Also, on slow nights, there's the same stage fee, only less income, same working conditions though. I wonder why male strip clubs never catch on.

I went a few times when I was younger, but for the past few years it just feels creepy having some sweaty girl with gigantic fake boobs rubbing them all over me for $20. Besides, $20 for 5 minutes or less of boob rubbing...not a good use of money IMO. I would rather just watch porn at home for next to nothing and give myself the happy ending...it's win/win!!

Probably not enough of a market and there isn't the same voyeuristic atmosphere I think with women. Male strippers can be very popular though.
