Music affects my emotions very strongly, TV programmes and movies do too to an extent. The right song can have me in tears, and hearing music I really like played live has made me blubber once or twice (or more times).

I find that I can't listen to anything too energetic while I'm driving because I get too worked up, and as I'm already stressed out just doing the driving it isn't a good combo!

One more thing before I finish rambling; I too can't watch argumentative TV shows so reality TV (along with its many many other faults), anything with politicians and talk shows are all out. Also anything with embarrassment or that's cringey (think The Office, prank show) I just can't handle, even for a second.

I have always been of the opinion that I was just picking up to crowd emotions, and was overwhelmed by them. I still think that is valid, but I may have to go back and look at some specific instances when TV or movies make me cry. It may be that it’s my own emotions overwhelming me.

I try to take advantage of it. When I need to get motivated to exercise I put on my favorite rock songs which fills me with good memories that get me high. When you hold so many emotions inside it really helps to have trigger songs to relieve them. 8)
