I am starting to think that no one is like me.

There aren't any people like me, either. It does not prevent me from making friends. You have to be confident in who you are.

I don't know. Perhaps it makes no sense

I think many people would like people who like kitty cats who like milk.

I think you're a cool cat.

If I were Dutch, and I wasn't married.......who knows?

You are you--the only you in the universe. That makes you unique, but I bet there are a lot people who are similar to you in particular ways. I bet a lot of people here at wrongplanet can relate to your feeling of alienation. I know I do. I have a couple of tattoos to represent this feeling. One is an alien; it is kind of like my logo, or trademark. The other is the monster from Frankenstein. If you have ever read the book, you will know what I am talking about.

Yeah that is true. I just wish I could also meet these people in real life. For some reason face to face contact and talking makes me happier than internet contact, even though I am better able to expres myself on the internet.

Face-to-face contact, inevitably, makes one happier than internet contact because one is in contact with AN ACTUAL PERSON.

Perhaps this is not so true with autistic people, because of sensory issues or whatnot.

But I believe that even most autistic people, absent the sensory issues, would be happiest when in contact with AN ACTUAL PERSON.

Can't say I have too many friends anymore, the ones that I did have I would agree were all fringe type individuals with their own issues. I think a lot of that has to do with where I come from tho than just me.

Sort of. My best friend is actually a major social butterfly, the opposite of me in a lot of ways, but he's also a big nerd, and we share a lot of the same interests. You wouldn't think we'd get along, but I find he helps me come out of my shell a bit and be more sociable. Of course, he sometimes gets on my nerves, but only when he hangs around for too long, or forgets that I'm an aspie and tries to get me to act more "NT" (though he's gotten a lot better about this, and he's quite understanding). We pretty much consider one another brothers.

Most of my other friends are gamers of some description, but only a few could really be called "outcasts". The "outcast" friends I have, are typically ones I can relate to quite well and be honest with, but I don't see them a lot in real life.

No. They're actually well-educated, respected members of medicine. You'd be surprised at how many physicians are on the spectrum and how many are very well educated - many PhD's, many occupations! Also, after a certain age, friend takes on a new meaning - a person who just might be in the same profession as you tells you one day they like to ski - you go on a couple of ski trips together and thus you have a friend. As you age, life is no longer about where you stand in society due to the number of knotheads you have around you like in high school - it's not about acceptance, strata, labels or levels. It's about links and pleasant commonality. People are no longer layered as they mature - layered turns into linked. If you keep on using words like loser, social outcast, especially on the same line as "friend", you're going to be just like you are now, "Just talking to yourself".

What in the world make you think for even a second that social butterflies have NO issues!!
If a person is human, they have issues.
