I just recieved notice from my landlord that I have through Sunday to either leave or pay the 2400 I owe in rent and utilities in full. I want to stay, but I don't have the money. I have nowhere to go, I don't know anyone I can stay with even temporarily- I have no friends, no aquaintances, no money, no family, no job, no coworkers, I don't know anyone. I also have one 60lbs. dog, and a computer and other stuff.
I need a place to live.
I can't be on the streets - I have been threatened and assulted more than once just riding the bus.
And I'm a woman...and this is Las Vegas. But I can think of no way I can get the money.
What am I going to do? What is a woman in my case supposed to do? :pale:

I'm missing something here. How can you get into a position where you owe $2400 and not be able to pay? Did you lose a job and then not get another one? It seems like you were dropped into this situation. How did you
1) get an appartment?
2) agree to pay rent
3) how do you feed yourself? You obviously have a computer and internet access. You can get a job at walmart and sell the computer and then be in a position to pay this dept very quickly.

hummm. . .getting a job requires a place to stay, so you can be bathed and clean clothes and a place that they can call you for your interview, etc. I lived in a tent on my friend's land for a time, and after I got the job, spent 100 bucks for a healthclub membership so I could get a shower every morning before work. Getting a job is rarely 'simple', mikehart, especially if you don't have a home base. How many jobs have you had, Mikehart?

I must be missing something, too. Your profile lists your age as 57, not 27. Was that a typo? Your profile also lists your occupation as an Health Insurance Fraud Analyst. What happened there?

Surely at your age you know that offering your presence as a female to a male as a free living roommate in exchange for being a "possible girlfriend" will be interpreted as inviting sex. There is no other reasonable interpretation.

Is this a ruse to get someone to offer you something free on this forum?

Hi MariaRenee!
I am Merle, known as sinsboldly, and I am 57 and that is my occupation. However the Original Poster (or OP)is someone different from me.
However, no matter what age it is, the dynamic remains the same, and it might not be naivety so much on the OP's part but a way she has leaned how to cope in the world. I know until my thirties, I had somewhat the same coping skills, and have the scars to prove it.

Now if someone decides to cope in this way, and takes no heed to the excellent referrals and reference this thread (to which the OP has not returned to post, although she has posted elsewhere, since) what then do we do? I may seem a bit detached, but other members have personally contacted the OP to ask in person about other opitons and the OP declined any than what she posted about initially, who are we to and indeed how could we stop someone learn life's lessons ?
Merle

Whoops! Sorry about that. I am not sure how I confused you with the OP.
