I'm 27 and I get carded for about anything when I shave down to a goatee or less. I tried to buy smoke bombs at a convenience store last year and you had to be 18 and I was carded.

You might be on to something there Paja, maybe forced or nervious expressions make the person carding you feel uneasy or take it as a sign that you're being sneaky.

I got mistaken for a teen until I was in my early forties. It happened more frequently when I was with my then teenaged daughter! Glad to say it doesn't happen anymore, though.

Yes, I get people thinking I'm a teen. Went for a meeting at my daughter's nursery recently, and the woman I was meeting asked me how old I am as she has a group for under 19s that she was going to invite me to, she was shocked when I said I was 25.

Yes apparently.. Especially if I'm not wearing makeup. Still get carded from time to time (I'm over 30).

I used to get this a lot. I have since changed my wardrobe into clothing more suited to my age group, and also more suited to my body type and giving a more sophisticated/professional appearance. Now people guess my age differently, up from mid-twentys to early 30's (at least they're getting closer!).

At 27, I was taken for 16. Now, at 59.....I don´t know, maybe I look like in late forties or early fifties.... Feel 30-35-ish inside.
My highly educated brother said, that humans actually never get older than that, mentally.

Probably and I've essentially dressed the same since I was 16, except now I have more tight fitting jeans its taken a while to collect those because I don't like those obnoxiously tight skinny jeans that it seems a lot of people are able to squeeze their legs and butt into, I prefer the kind that still qualify as pants rather than leggings.

I also apparantly look younger in general even if I where to dress in something more professional looking than band t-shirts, jeans or some other random pants maybe even pajama pants if I feel like it.

That's interesting; I never feel much older than my thirties, mentally even though I am older than that now.

No, I don't look like a teenager. I'm in my early 30s and I personally think I look exactly my age. It is other people who occasionally think I'm a bit younger, but it is rare that discussions about age come up. And since this isn't really something I've ever made the topic of conversation myself, I don't know what age most of the people I know or work with would put me at. I don't get carded buying wine or cocktails, so I think my assessment is fairly realistic. On the other hand, I don't live in a place that is terribly paranoid about it and if you look grown up enough, you generally don't get carded.

I will concede that even I think I don't look older than I am. But I don't think I necessarily look younger, and certainly not much younger.

My view of self is so distorted that I have no idea what I look like. 8O

I have dressed the same since I was in elementary school consisting of old t-shirts, jeans, and tennis shoes (I'm in college now).

I'm 33 and still have to show my ID when I go to the liquor store (you're allowed to buy alcohol at 18 here in Finnland, hard liquor at 21)

I'm 26 and people think I am 18-19. Sometimes people think I am as young as 14 or 15. I don't know whether to be annoyed or flattered.
