Postpaleo, which Zappa song??

Do you mean "Frank's Garage"?? That's toooo long ago, isn't it?? That was Zappa's opus regarding censorship. The Chief Scrutinizer, indeed ! !!

Tipper was on some congressional commitee, was a while ago so i have forgotten alot, she was on a crusade to get the words right for the kiddies to listen to. In other words she was into the censorship thing and Frank was brought before the commitee. he made them into the asses they really were. It went over their heads big time. I did a thing on my little spot about it, I'll put it up in a second, I may have to censor it to get it on here.

I have no doubt what so ever Frank was one of us.

I want to be a First Lady

Yeah, I tell them to change the channel if they see
some guy in a brown suit with a telephone number
at the bottom of the screen asking for money.
--
on being asked by Tipper Gore if there was anything
on the TV he didn't allow his kids to watch ...

Why doncha come on over to the house and I'll show 'em to ya?
--
Senate hearing on pornography in music, when Tipper said ...
"I'd like to see what kind of toys your children play with."

I wrote a song about dental floss but did anyone's teeth get cleaner?
--
In response to Tipper Gore's allegations that music incites people towards
deviant behavior, or influences their behavior in general.

People make a lot of fuss about my kids having such supposedly 'strange names', but the fact is that no matter what first names I might have given them, it is the last name that is going to get them in trouble.

From the Real Frank Zappa Book - Mr. Dad chapter

Makes me wonder, do I really want Al Gore to run again? Who would name their daughter Tipper anyway? Frank might, but probably he would add an r. Tipper with an R rating. I like it. Yeah, it probably is the last name that gets you in trouble, right Tripper?

I used to have "Shut UP and Play Yer Guitar", which was Frank doing instrumentals. Some were just interesting, but some of them were outrageous ! !

Gone but not forgotten: Frank Zappa (December 21, 1940 – December 4, 1993)

Can it really be that long ago he left the building ???????

"The crux of the biscuit is: If it entertains you, fine. Enjoy it. If it doesn't, then blow it out your ass. I do it to amuse myself. If I like it, I release it. If somebody else likes it, that's a bonus."

"I was writing all kinds of positive and negative canons and weird inverted this and retrograde that and getting as spaced-out mathematically as I could and I was going. "Wait a minute (laughs), who cares about that stuff?" I had always liked rhythm and blues so here I was stuck between the slide rule and the gut bucket somewhere and I decided that I would opt for a third road someplace in between."

His like is most likely on this web site, I have no doubts. It won't come out the same, the basics will be there. It shouldn't come out the same way, everytime, either. He had more then a little to say about that as well. I think part of his genius was, he could step out of it all and observe it and put it into prospective for NT's to see it, if they cared to bother.

But yeah, I think you're right in a sense, it was like he was an ambassador from another planet.

oh, I LOVE to talk into a vacuum! the suction just sucks all the air out of your lungs if you don't hold it just right. . and humming along with the sound of the motor cancels out the sound. If you perspire on your scalp, running the hose over your head really ventlates the hair (and I got really excited about the Flowbee, but I don't know why that never caught on)
oh!!wait, it DID here is the website! http://www.flowbee.com/ but it warns against getting the Robocut, cause 'natch, it's inferior, just ask the flowbe people!

so, I work until 4:15 and come home and watch Keith Olberman on Countdown and read the Dcaf web pages. Everyone else is having their dinner, probably, cause I live out on the Left Coast, and I answer the posts as I care to, and they all end up bunched up together. That is not much in the way of conversation. Its more like I go into a cave and run around chisling my own pictographs below the inscribed pictographs already on the walls.

ah, heck, I will go pack another box.
