I cant sleep with the excitement I get knowing I may have killed a thread.

BTW I was looking for this thread last week and I was unable to find it.

If you are worried about the amount of cat pictures i suggest you stay away from the cat aprettiation thread.

On a side note cat pics are ok as long as they arent like this one Image.

I do. I hate being the last person to post in a thread, especially if it's a few hours before someone else posts. I always think I've posted something either boring, off-topic, or offensive without realizing it and everyone's being too polite to tell me. In fact I wish I could squeeze my post in between posts that are already there. Anyone else hate seeing their name in the 'last post' column on the right of the forum?

Someone post after me! Quick!! ! :)

What I have found is that the fastest way to kill a thread is to thank people who posted to the thread. Strange (my view) so I no longer automatically thank people due to that - too often - it sent a false signal that the thread was closed.

It might be that youve said something profound and meaningful!
Litereally the "last word" on the subject. No one can either argue, nor equal it!

Thats why the post stops.

Ive been the last poster a few times, and it surprises (but not upsets me).
If you actually have offended somebody-the opposite happens- folks respond- and the thread gets longer. If there pissed at you they let you know- and that may cause someone else to respond to that person -and so on.

On one occasion I was dissappointed. Two guys were verbally duking it out over a contraversial incident in recent history that I had never even thought about before-but it got me interested. I mean it got to be like they were hitting each other with folded metal chairs.

so i googled the incident and read and thought about it. Put in my two cents worth.
Niether of the two guys responded. Im still the last poster on the thread.

I dont know if I personally killed the thread, or both the other two guys had run out things to say. Or what.

Maybe I should be proud that I somehow stopped a fight! Lol!

Needless worry topic

I do this thread killing all the time. And then I post in trivial threads to boost my thread count, though of late not so much.

So I will start doing it again!!
