Postie--I cruised through your post on your wife leaving you, and I thought she was leaving you.. Then I reread it after seeing everyone's posts after yours, and realized she's only going to be gone for one night. Whew.

it's all good.

Naw never happen. I ask how long we been married? And she'll give me the current score and I pause for a minute and tell her it's been way to long, need a devorce. Then the arguement starts on whos going to pay for it, I won't and she won't so we're just plain stuck with each other. I thought we were about as strange a couple as evver could be, the more I see here the less I think it. I mean we've been so close to each other physicaly for all this time. We even worked together. It's like a serious vacation for us would have to be a part. If I could I would send her on a cruise, she get's off on ships, I won't go into much more graphic then that, but let's just say she really "get's off" on them. Bad part of sending her would I wouldn't be there to enjoy the fringe benifits. Me I like my cave, probably way to much. I suppose I need to work on getting out of the house more, I just haven't a clue why I'd want to, no idea what I would do out there.

Do we care? Or the lady who posted on the married thread. Supports my dh's theory. Go to a shrink and end up divorced. Even if I am in trouble right now, I still like him too much to want a divorce. Besides, he got the tub around so I could soak my blistered feet. That was after he threw my new sandals in the trash. :( They were cute.

lol, was thinking about all the time i posted to her. You're sticky get a way from me

Finally, some one that writes correctly. I read that thing on the plants and it read very smoothly. Wasn't till i started rereading the rest that didn't read smoothly that I saw the switch. Naw it's still there, I fell into it coming in the bathroom window the other day.

Hope you can see to find your eye balls again and I very much doubt you lead a boring life

Darn. Now I'll have to go and get the dictionary. Very cool image, by the way. I haven't been able to insert an image into my message yet either. Some day.

I use photobucket sometimes, check it out and see if it makes sense. I see they just added a thing to post your web cam goodies so you can link them direct, rather then go through a youtube deal. Haven't scoped it out yet, don't have the web cam hooked up either. Might get a round to it some day.

Well, you might be right, I think I WAS a fluke because I uploaded it to ImageShack and then clicked on the right button and there it was.

but hellifIknow what is wrong. . .I think the flood, packing, moving, working 10 hour days during it all is taking its' toll and I am quite tired, really.

Ya think that might have something to do with it? Rest well  you owe it to yourself.

What you using for the those great latin(?) quotes? you have a page? The one I'm using was an accident of sorts, long story and not going to try, but funny.

Actually you can. There's a handy-dandy little program called greasemonkey that lets you ignore all of a person's posts. PM me if you want the instructions and url.
I was using it when I was feeling depressed and anxious, but I haven't needed it for awhile. My skin's gotten thicker or something. But I prolly just jinxed myself and am about to get flamed...

By the way, Starr has started a thread asking for a mature forum. If any of you care to contribute your opinion, here's the thread:

TY for the info. It happens very rarely here, actually that was the first time. But grease monkey will stick in my mind if I like it or not, if I ever think I need such a thing. How's them chickens?

Yeah. I do that too. Today I only did a couple of shots behind may back and an odd one left-handed. Depends who I'm playing. I play one handed, sometimes, and with my eyes shut, and fast (zero time thinking of shots - actually makes the game take longer, overall). I've also played while kneeling on the floor, but I was very, very drunk at the time, and had to be told about it the next day.. and the day after... and the day after...

Pool, I've found to be a generic term, sometimes. Like in my area, most times that would be considered a game of "8 ball". In Canada I found it to be mixed between "Snooker" and "8 ball", but usually they made a disticntion before the effort to go play. Billards different all togther and it least in my area pool and billards is seperated. So kind of interested in what Scotland might consider it and what England might consider it. As well as other areas that people that come here know about. Also a difference in table lengths, bars here have a shorter table, actual "pool halls" generaly bigger tables. No I'm not talkin pocket pool , just don't go there, I cut it off before you got started. Yes I know that's a straight line.

Loved the game. All kinds of math involved, but I didn't have to do numbers to do it. Much more visual.

Hi Dinos. Your attention please :)

Sorry to crash in on you like this, but there's a discussion about the possibility of a new forum in this thread:-

http://www.wrongplanet.net/modules.php? ... c&start=15

Alex is considering a new forum and he wants to know what threads to put in the new seniors forum. He doesn't want to open an empty forum. There has been a suggestion made to move the Dino Aspie and the Dino-Married threads to the new forum as he doesn't want to open an empty forum.

I am feeling a little nervous about posting this actually and am ready to duck behind a wall to avoid the missiles, but I suspect a lot of you are very happy here and see no point in changing things. But we have an opportunity here to have a new forum where us oldsters can stretch out a bit, get some separate threads going, which will bring some new faces into the discussions and give a little more room to include other things...a book discussion group has been suggested for one thing. Anyway, as I say, please post your views on it in the new forum thread above. I know some of you will already have read the threads and the discussions about the possibilities of new forums that have been rumbling around WP for a long time, those of you who haven't, there are links to those in the above thread.

Thanks everyone.

Sheeze, nervous about posting? Hey, that might be an Aspie trait, you might want to have that looked at.

The only missiles I got to play with were heat seekers, tin foil might work. Get nervous if you ever fly into El Paso, we used to track the jets coming in for practice. Unless you're on a duck.

Nothing sacred in here. You'd think they'd learn.

Hi, all! I've started a new Dino-Aspie thread, the Dino-Aspie Annex, for additional geezer posting. Come by for some tea and James Taylor. It's a quieter place (so far!)

Hope to see you there. :D

Woohoo!!

Thanks, everyone, for your kind words. My friend is really strong, and we talked tonight about her upcoming treatments, and she feels she has a really good oncology team, and I have to agree with her. The doctor who's the world's expert on this type of cancer is her doctor, and it was a fluke my friend got her. It was such a relief after finding out who this doctor was after my friend got the cancer dx.

Poor ZM. Did you save the shoes? You probably have those tiny feet that look so cute in strappy sandals. I actually broke down and bought a pair of Crocs flipflops, and that's as close to strappy as I'll ever get.

Yeah, Lau, What Postie asked about pool in Scotland. My folks owned taverns, and while my dad had pool tables, he had one really nice, wood inlaid regulation billiards table. When I was growing up, we even had a pool table in the living room (had to sit under the ball return to watch "My Favorite Martian")(Yeah, I said it--I had balls in my hair, yeah, so?). We usually played 8-ball, and my sister and I had child size cues, and had to stand on milk crates to play.

When my parents died, my sister got my mother's custom cue, and I got my dad's.

Postie, and anyone else, can you shoot with either hand when you play pool or billiards? My sister and I play either right or left handed.

Metta, Rjaye

Depended on if I was playing for money or not  If I was out for the loot to support my beer habit. It was serious stuff. Then I actually needed to watch how much I got under the belt. That varied upon the stress of the day and how many in the bar. The point of that was to calm the brain rush, get comfortable enough to stand the crowd, relax, is what I'm trying to say that is taking far to long and turning to a heapin helpin of long long long run on sentance. As a rule no, but sometimes the curse of the short people would hit and I had to contort into all kinds of odd postions and handages.

I spent a full summer canoeing in Canada and based myself out of a small town. I got to know the locals rather well and still keep in touch with one. Not my fault, she's semi whacked and I still hope for the best for her, probably why we got on. I was introduced to snooker there and enjoyed it very much. Never got good at it. Leettle tiny balls and counters, balls in strange places, and on a huge freakin imported table and lions and tigers and bears. I think it would be a fun thing to try and master. Back then you could still stand a spoon up in the beer and I didn't need anything else, very filling on so many levels. Ah but I was so much older then, I'm younger then that now.

Actually if golf were an inside sport I might take an interest. I find much the same principles at play, just a bigger table. And it's got bumps, sand and trees in the road, not just an unbalanced table and a bar que.
