I left for half a day and we moved? :?
Zanne,
Those are wonderful ideas you have for threads. Hopefully EVERYONE will be happy now and there will be no more tension. (I can't hide in the kitchen anymore! Coffee Dude is CREEPY!)

Whoa! You Dinos must have had a heckuva wild of "200th page" party! Tore the cafe right off its foundations and sent it drifting into its own forum! Looks like the signs have fallen off the now cracked walls. I see that partitions and private booths have been added. Guess I'll have to trot from room to room to see everyone, but this old mutt needs the exercise anyway.

As for now, gotta take a nap so I can go back to work. (right thread for that sentence?) :)

(runs in a circle trampling imaginary grass, then flips onto his back with all four paws pointing straight up, instantly asleep, snoring and drooling, next to the knocked over alternative rhododendron).

Couldn't get it small enough for an avatar, so here goes...
Gosh. I'm going to have to teach my wife-to-be all these interesting (boring) things, am I?

1) Nice image, but too small! Gimme a full size desktop image! Slightly manic cackling (otherwise known as laughter) should issue from your screen as this point. Hee hee hee, (Something like "Number 9", in "Short Circuit", having his epiphany at the top of the mountain.).

2) Your image is only 100 pixels wide and 71 high, when you're allowed 140 by 140. So you're OK there.

3) However, your image is 16706 bytes. I'm not sure what exactly Alex means when he says "... and the file size no more than 16 KB." Doing it "properly", that should mean you are only allowed 16,000 bytes. Alex may be being less than pedantic, and meaning 16,384 bytes (when he should have said "... 16 KiB"), but in either case, 16,706 is way over!

In the short term, Image should do.

What I'm bemused by, is what software generated the file? I've used two different programs (KolourPaint and The GIMP) on it. In each case, I just loaded your image and saved it straight back with 100% "accuracy". Both programs better than halved the file size.

PS. I got carried away, and tried out PNG (Potable Network Graqhics) format, so as to get transparency, hence Image which is different.

So teach me! :)

Anyway, the photo was first scanned onto a disk at one of those do-it-yourself photo kiosks. Then I uploaded to my computer, saved it, and then uploaded it to photobucket. While trying to upload it to the forum as an avatar, I reduced the size as small as photobucket would make it, and then when I decided to increase the size, couldn't get it to work. I've got a lot to learn, LOL but am willing and able. I've even bought some computer books!

All the new threads sound good to me. As long as we don't have to cross any interstates and dodge heavy traffic.

One more day at work and then off into the wild blue sky! Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

My poor blistered foot swelled all up today. It's unswelling now. I wonder what that was all about?

"My feet looked like two balloons."

A little Floyd anyone?

Coffee dude, get me something and don't ask if I changed my clothes again or tell me I wore Peach yesterday. Sheesh Why are you looking there anyway? I'm wearing a bag from now on.

Hello I'm back.Did my 12 hour shift then proceeded to get the truck's cab vacuumed as I was too embarassed to take it to the oil change place and then to tire shop. Yes the moon is full and the strangers get stranger...I was at the store yesturday to get stock for my market when this old coot makes a sexest joke about me, a perfect stranger to another stranger. I just looked at him and said "don't make me break out a can of Asperger's on you." The other man embarassed by the comment of the old coot and apparently knew the term Asperger's just roared. I added "and to think they put me in a special class to make me care." I might have to put another shift in tonight. God I hope not I'm so tired my synapses are misfiring.

Only me finding this a little overwhelming? All the new places and most of all, all the new people. I guess I knew they were there, hoped they were there. It's a very good thing, please don't read my body language wrong. I suppose ones life style is reflected here some times. Me being a hermit, recluse for so many years, it feels like going outside to me. I try, now, to not over extend myself, because I know if I do, it will all go down in flames. So many new threads. I'm freakin crazy, I'm nervous in this place, my beloved cafe.

Don't mind me, just me feeling the water. Feels cold, I'll make the plunge. No pushing please. Don't be surprised if I go into lurker mode. I'll be fine, have plenty of coffee, spam, kippers and muffins.

I do have pepper spray but this is California...more lawyers per capita than anywhere else. With my luck I'd be sued. Do you know why California has so many attys. and New Jersey so many toxic waste sites?...N.J. got first pick. I'll know in about 15 min. if I have to work again tonight. Caffiene, Nicotine God knows the shape I'm in. When I was much younger I said I wanted to make a good living now I'll settle for a great exsistance. I'm going to recharge.

Head Line: Music fills Rittenhouse in a show of solidarity"
Apparently, no singing in the park anymore without a permit. Some guy was arrested recently for singing in the park without a permit. A group of musicians got together in the park yesterday to protest. They believe you shouldn't have to get a permit to sit on a park bench and play your guitar. Many had been doing that for years. I used to love to go to that park to hear the musicians, it will never be the same. Most can't afford permits.

This article really made me feel sad. I really am a blue cat today and identify more and more with my avatar. I close my eyes and see Cosmiccat. I've become Cosmiccat.

I feel like our little cafe got bombed and everyone ran for shelter into a catacomb of threads that will never provide the same comfort and solidarity. I guess I don't adapt to change very well. I'm incredibly bummed out.
