Deaconblues,

Geez, it's been at least 20 years since I read any of the Callahan series. Do they still break dishes in the fireplace?
Always wanted to do that. :D

it always had some connotation with 'home' for me cause i lost my mother at the age of 4,
the graveyard was where she was, so it was a beautiful place in my eyes.
especially cause no one ever wanted to talk with me about her ("poor little girl mustn't bother her with it"...) although i really wanted to know all about it (aspiestyle  ),
so the only thing i got was a beautiful picture of her when she was twelve (with eyes of a desperate angel, very impressive photograph) and the celebrating of the deads beginning of november (flowers and graveyard stuff)
i also had a very nice picture of me sitting on a grave in the famous graveyard of Paris at the age of seventeen (with black coloured lips and punky hair)

at the same time it probably has influenced people in not knowing that asperger's was in my blood (whenever i was staring or akward, "poor little girl"...) also cause i performed well at school (especially maths, but well)

Is that legal in US? I'd never tried it until I met an, funnily enough American girll in Copenhagen. I think I embaressed myself that night. Haha not

I thought this place was closed. Just when I was getting used to it. I think I'd rather stay here and get used to the humour and pathos, than have "like"..."totally" ...in-depth discussions. I(n saying that I do like some of the other threads.....A Go Go etc.

It's not legal in the states, but this place exists in the digital world and it's legal here.

Do try a sip, we have it in a mint falvoured wine variety, or straight up with a bit of cold water to make it palatable. Tolouse Latrec loved the stuff.

I was pretty fond of it myself when we lived in Europe.

And now for something completely different!
(old Monty Python Introduction line)

32 years ago today. . .Lest We Forget

Tin soldiers and Nixon's comin'.
We're finally on our own.
This summer I hear the drummin'.
Four dead in Ohio.

Gotta get down to it.
Soldiers are cutting us down.
Should have been done long ago.
What if you knew her and
Found her dead on the ground?
How can you run when you know?

Break

Gotta get down to it.
Soldiers are cutting us down.
Should have been done long ago.
What if you knew her and
Found her dead on the ground?
How can you run when you know?

Tin soldiers and Nixon's comin'.
We're finally on our own.
This summer I hear the drummin'.
Four dead in Ohio.
Four dead in Ohio.
Four dead in Ohio.
Four dead in Ohio.
Four dead in Ohio.
Four dead in Ohio.
Four dead in Ohio.
Four dead in Ohio.
Four dead in Ohio.

One of the things they were looking for when they got their new Place was a fireplace with a parabolic shape, so the glass fragments would stay pretty much in the fireplace after a toast. After all, if they couldn't throw their empties into the fireplace, well, it just wouldn't be the Place, would it? :)

Good Morning. I'm just getting off work and yes I have to be back tonight for a 15hr. shift.
I don't watch the news much and Geraldo isn't news to me. He's just a yellow sensationalist, liberal, poor excuse for a journalist. If the the shooter at VT is labeled an AS and considering how the libs feel about the second amendment I'd be afraid.
I'm not giving up mine and intend on getting my concealed firearms permit soon. My situation as a business owner carrying large amounts of cash at times and the location of my market warrent it. It doesn't matter if he had AS or not, he was a punk with a murderous streak. When you think where mass killings happen they happen in places where guns are banned; schools and post offices.
I had a little trouble finding our den here in this forum. Glad to be among you.

Yes, however if you must use it to protect yourself you best be ready for a legal battle for using deadly force especially if you don't kill your attacker. It is a risk you take. I have to say that I have been lucky not to be in a situation like that. An old boyfriend of mine shot his attacker who was beating him in the face with a large rock. He was the one arrested as he used a gun to protect himself. The supposed "victim" only had two injuries, an entry and exit wound on his lower arm that the sherriffs' dept. documented in two photographs, my friend had 27 photographs of his injuries. His face was monsterously bruised and lacerated. I learned alot about Cal. justice. But I have a right to do what I have to to live for my children. I refuse to allow some waste of skin make me stare down a barrel in my face and walk away. Some one will die and I will do what I have to to make sure it's not me. Actually I'm a pretty mellow girl but gun control statutes really raise my ire. I am a citizen, have never been arrested and don't know what the inside of a jail looks like ecept for where you pay the bail or visit. (I'm no longer the nice girl who shows up with bail money. Kind of out grew the drama of bad boys.)

Ah yes, the Wild West atmosphere of the USA. Draw down on a dusty street, and all that. Draw pard'ner ! !

I should remember all the headlines about 'gang-bangers' in California.

Well it's time for me to go open the store, make a stout pot of Joe and run the cash register. Salmon season starts tomorrow, woo hoo. I know a few fisherman who make sure I'm plied with my favorite fish.
I might be back later.
Let you mind go and run with it!! I'm outta here for now.
