Well, ASPartOfMe, if insurance is now paying for it, I guess that's progress!

Hope your day is not too uncomfortable. Do you get visitors?

If I am a dinosaur in my thinking and insurence is now commonly paying for that is fabulous.

I get visitors a few times a week.

From my benefits booklet:

Mental, Behavioral
Health and Substance Abuse

No prior authorization is required for outpatient
services from an in-network mental health/
substance abuse provider. Prior authorization is
required for inpatient services, group therapy and
psychiatric testing.

I guess my evaluation by a psychiatrist, with numerous little tests, is included under psychiatric testing. I did get prior authorization.

State government HMO. I don't think it's a Cadillac plan. I hadda get pre-authorization, but other than that, no sweat.

Lesson: check your own benefits, see what you can do, before assuming it can't be done.

Aye, I work at a low wage position and even with my insurance it cost me about $30.00 for the co-pay.

What insurence company is providing this benifit?

The only way to find out is a diagnosis through a licensed professional rather than a bunch of armchair psychologists on a web-forum.

Then again. Psychology is a complete pseudo-science and totally based on probability, what humans areobserved doing. So our inference is almost as good as any psychologist's.
