If you have a complaint, there
is an overmoderation sticky.
Probably a better place to
bring the issue to light.

Does anyone ever actually complain there? :? With all due respect, I would be uncomfortable as all get out to post a complaint against a mod anywhere (whether or not I had one), but especially on a board devoted to them.
Kosmonaut's approach may be flawed, but I wouldn't dismiss him at once.

The point is that it gives us a good location to find the complaints. If someone
just wants to mutter about something, hey no big deal. But, if you desire anyone
to consider the issue raised, it seems the only logical place to complain. Given that
we have a VERY limited mandate as mods here, it may help us to see where members
are complaining, in order to realize that we may be exceeding our specific purpose,
and performing OTHER actions which general members are not able to do.

Buried complaints become even less likely to get Alex's attention. When it comes down
to it, any instance of "overmodderation" is either a part of his rules for the site, or
a disregard for our mandate (well that or a point that might need to be clarified).

What I find extremely interesting about this Wrong Planet: a lot of people here act…behave no different to everyone else “out there” in the non-disordered world, and I’m not speaking of people who throw useless and meaningless insults; I’m speaking of behaviour that appears perfectly “normal” [and NT] to me, i.e., misunderstanding runs rampant through here when one should think that this is the last place it’d be located…people expect and/or assume the worst of each other when it’s clearly impossible to assume either way….

Perhaps there’s a greater detachment between the disorder and the person’s social personality than I’m led to believe, perhaps the only difference is overt social interaction when in the physical world – where there’s no physical world it’s the same as the supposed “normal” people.

I have noticed the same thing... I believe the internet allows Aspies to express more easily things they would be less able to in face to face interraction. Here...we do not have to see the eyes, the expression...of the other person. Here you can just switch off if it all gets too much. Here, you can sit in the safety of your own space and type just about whatever you want with little risk of much repercussion.

I think the same goes for NTs to a degree...the net allows a certain freedom of expression most cannot have in their real lives. I suppose on the plus side, this little feature also allows us to see some for who they are as they lose their boundaries and step out ... on the other hand, you have to wonder...what is bravado and mask and what is the real essence of the person. Some would say that on the net, you never know who is real, but I am starting to believe that we are more real on the net than we are in our off net lives because we feel more free to express everything.

If anyone has a complaint about one of the "mods" they should pm Alex about it. That
is what I would do.
