What other forces are at work here, Postie?

Blessed, you have to share Solo with ME! :D

Not 100% sure. A little of this, a little of that, a big heapin helpin of this, and I'll have none of that. The trick is to take it slow, keep an open mind and KISS above all else KISS.

 My 16 year old son just told me the reason he has female character is so that he doesn't have to look at an ugly guy all the time. 8O Not sure I should have asked! Don't want to see his character, either! Hubby has a character with my name that is a blood-elf something-or-other. Just wishful thinking on his part!

Blood elf is horde side. That's the common saying for most when playing a female toon, I would rather look at a female. I don't use it, but I am hot!! yes I am. The fun thing about WOW is, they didn't take out the fun. Most online games have gotten all serious about themselves. This can be taken that way too, I just don't choose to play for blood any more. The option is there if one wants to play that way. great interaction with other "real" people. you wouldn't believe how mnay people I have met with depression problems and other little quirks. yes it is healthy, very healthy, get to work it out, before doing it in real time. mentioned this before. I have a "partner', she and I have been gaming online for many years. She's flying here for another week visit, i hope really soon. yes, online is very real, it doesn't often come to real life meeting and a parent should be very aware, take an interest in what the kids are doing.

We had an issue with T2 when he was 11. I found an e-mail from a 20 year old young old lady in my in-box, telling all about herself. I blew a gasket!! The males in my house were all looking a little worried that day! It turned out that my son had been asking the woman questions and she decided to answer them. He lost computer privileges for 4 months (a BIG deal to him) and had to clean bathrooms for 6 months. We now have all computer screens in sight of the others and he is not allowed on when no one can watch him. He has a non-verbal learning disorder and had trouble with the concept that people on the internet cannot be trusted. He has learned but it was a little alarming. The e-mail I fired off to the young lady was also a little alarming too, come to think of it.

My sixteen year old son when he was three informed me he wanted to be a girl. Trying to quell the anxiety of my son having tendencies that disturbed me a I asked "Why?" He said because they got to wear neat stuff in their hair, aah, I was so relieved, it was an accessory thing! His older sister influenced it. His father was worried about him playing with Barbies. I said " watch him play with them". No worries my son did what any other red blooded male would do...rip her clothes off much to the chagrin of his sister who spent twenty minutes getting Barbie's a attire on over the anotomic challenges she poses.

I love the ideas that are generated around here!! Can never have too many Cabana Hans!

My daughter has a lot of dolls and such that were handed down from her 3 brothers. She also has a lot of trucks and action figures. She is probably rougher than her brothers ever were but she will be what she will be. The boys have all turned out to be handsome fellows who talk about girls in quite a healthy manner.

There is another really cool part to this game. They're called emotes. I'm sure they know about them. It's so easy on the net to get the wrong impression from a written word. The little smilie thingys to the side are really emotes. lets some one know it they're kidding or what ever it is they want to convey without words. In WOW there are keywords you can type that will let the toon (cartoon, charactor) do an emotion. One that actually takes a body movement form. You might see me do it here, when an icon smile doesn't fit. In WoW they would look like this /shrug /fart /silly /rude and so on. I think we'll see more and more pros get hip to the long range effects of this thing. They are already, but it's just the tip of things to come.

heh, took me a minute to catch on to this "time out" that my daughter was doing. grand Kid would do bad and get put into a stand up or sit down in the corner or where ever. What was happening is this, she was put in the corner for x minutes and then released. The thing was, she didn't know the why of it. So when she was put there and not by me, I would ask her, what was the reason for it. Most times she still didn't know or refused to say she had done anything wrong. I guess it's no different from past punishments and just like those, it was a quick fix for the parent and never really got the point across. Not implying that is what you did or do. Don't mind me it was just a sparkly thing I saw.

Quote:
The Cast Iron Plant (Aspidistra elatior) is one of the best at providing a reliable sheaf of dark green leaves between a half metre and a metre in length, to add life and striking form to replace that missing spire of greenery that was the Christmas tree.

Aspidistra elatior is the Latin name for this remarkably tough plant from China and Japan that often will succeed where others fade and die away. In Victorian times it was used as house decoration in places where the low light levels and fumes from the gas mantles killed most other plants, earning it the name of ‘Cast Iron Plant’.

Today the levels of indoor pollution are much less than a hundred years ago and light levels are greater, with the large double glazed windows common in many houses, so enabling the aspidistra to flourish indoors.

Does that sound like anyone YOU know?

Parrotfish eat coral and poop white sand. Much of the sand on the beaches of the Caribbean was made by the beautiful Parrotfish (which come in all colors):

I like to follow them around watching them eat and poop. They make a tremendous noise under there crunching and grinding coral. The biggest Parrotfish are about 4 feet long, most of them are much smaller. They also change sexes as adults, if they live long enough. The older females will become dominant males.

Did you take those pictures? Remarkable!!

I am very careful to explain punishment to my kids. T2 knew exactly why he was cleaning toilets. He is also very into rules so once it is explained to him and made into a rule, it sticks.

I got my diploma in early childhood education 20 years ago. I specialized in children with special needs due to any kind of abuse. It has definitely come in handy when dealing with my AS children.

S just showed me the emotes. He also looked at me like I lost my marbles for asking. Apparently there are marbles rolling around everywhere tonight!

hummm. . .I don't know about making a regular household chore a 'punishment'. Wouldn't that make him avoid or think that someone who DID clean toilets was somehow 'less than?'

don't get me wrong, I have never raised kids, I don't even suggest that I presume to know how to raise kids. but I have BEEN a kid. I was made to do dishes for punishment and I fight it every time I step up to the sink.

i don't mind bringing coffee, i don't like to sit all the time anyway,
but could you please be polite when you ask me for coffee and not shout at me as to a dog?
(not that i mind, but it makes other people think i accept to be treated badly)
