Sun, cursed stuff. Got a little overdosed with it today. Left my cave and actually went into the woods, first time in about 10 years. Lol, and they're only about 200 meters behind the house. Bad news was, I couldn't find my little secret spot, with the Jack-in-the-Pulpits. I might have kept it too secret. Think I'm about 2 days to early for them to be fully open and in another week should see them in all manner of growth. Did find some, my eyes sure as hell ain't what they used to be. You can walk right by them if you don't get the angle right looking for them. Probably found a dozen or so, but none fully open. I'll tack a picture or two up later, maybe. Maybe one of another type of flower that is in full bloom. I'm still an ol goat, but I'm not the mountian kind anymore, found that out. They've been in that part of the woods with logging roads and have a bad feeling they went through the one that had the larger colony. They did some selective logging and opened the canopy more, some plants don't like a lot of light, like me. The ones we did find (swampblossom was with me) that were the best had more sun on them and they didn't photo too well. Alot of black berry plants now, they get thick and choke out some other plants as well. Typical after they log. They're still there, just need to find my bush clothes, then I can just plow through the prickers.

The leaves on the trees aren't fully open, enough to defuse the light some. The May flowers were nice, Buttercups up, Violets up of course, Honey Suckles aren't up, but did see one just starting, Eldaberrys starting to form, Fiddle Heads a little high for eating, did see a few that would be ok, but most already to high. Leeks were higher on the hill and I can't find my damn digging tool for them, so no leeks for me tonight. Heard a wild turkey, but they're pretty commom now, not like the old days. Deer sign all over the place. Yeah funny what you forget till you see them again. See what I put myself through for the benifit of the cafe, you see that stuff, huh, do ya, do ya!! Terrible I tell ya, them woods is bad, nothin good about em. A guy could get lost in there for hours.

It's really nice that we have a Coffee Dude, but you know a Serving Wench would be nice too. I think Swampblossom might get out the 2x4 if I went to find one. The kind of remembering she put on me with that thing could draw blood. Besides she wasn't to pleased with my breaking trail skills anymore. So she's got some pent up energy already. Think she'd put a serious hurtin on me, yes I do think so.

Well, I'm back in the swamp and we had rain, early as it turns out since rainy season doesn't start until next month. Very long, long trip and I only slept about four hours.

Postie, Good for you, getting out in the sunshine and exploring nature! :D

That rain was supposed to go to HARTZ ! !! Poor thing can hardly beathe down there in Florida USA with all the fires raging out of control.
Odd to think of, though. I always picture it wet and swampy, not dry enought to burn ! !!???

Glad that you are back, safe and sound, Zanne-Marie! And Prof, I think Zanne lives in Florida, too, so hopefully we both benefited from the rain.

Well, I've had an odd experience, and not sure how I should handle it. Being so fatigued, I decided to send out for Chinese food. While eating it, I found a STAPLE in it! I was fortunate not to swallow it. I've patronized this particular restaurant on and off for three years. Any suggestions on how best to deal?

Call the manager. I usually go in myself and throw a complete fit in front of all the customers because I can't wait for anything, but the manager has responsibility to handle it. Which restaurant is it? I'll have my NT brother and all his friends black ball them.

My family owns restaurants here and if the customer points out a glaring mistake, the meal is on the house and they recieve a complimentary meal for the next time. You can usually hear my father blasting the kitchen staff soon after. There is no excuse for that kind of complacency. Talk to the manager or owner. That is awful!!

It's called NEW WOK, on 13th St in Gainesville. I just called and informed them about the staple in the food. The manager apologized profusely, but didn't offer any amends. I guess that's the last time I'll order from them. I didn't even enjoy the food, after that, and most of it went on the compost.

If this slows loading time in the Cafe, let me know and I'll move them.

I had you pegged as a Lady of good taste, in apparel. You start talking to SwampBlossom and we'll see who's topping.

Thanks for that view of the Jack in the Pulpit. I haven't seen one since 2002!
