hi, blessedmon, everyone. Thought I'd share something amusing for a change. I tried to call the Post Office this afternoon. Noticing that they would be closing in a few minutes, I hastily dialed the number and waited. This woman's voice came on, and she seemed to be having trouble speaking, as well as gasping and going Oh! Oh! I wondered why the Post Office had this sort of greeting on their automated line, and then she started to speak, and I realized that I had dialed the wrong number - I had reached one of those sex lines!

I'm sorry if I offended anyone with the above. When I posted it, I didn't get a reaction, so I'm assuming it wasn't funny to anybody but myself.

I thought it was funny. I forget that I need to post my laughter! I actually laughed even harder because the guys my husband works with always say I have a "hot" voice. When I think of short little chubby me working at a phone sex line it also makes me laugh!

Blessed grabs a peppermint tea and heads to her corner. Coffee dude is still cowering from being told off by Zanne's boss. Cabana Han seems to have gone to find seriousgirl. And Hubby has gotten her to give him his annual summer buzz cut that breaks her heart. Bye, bye soft wavy hair! :(
Pondering the notion that she may take offense to anything, she lets out a giggle. If only the patrons of the cafe new about her crude sense of humor. She wonders where everyone is and where the recent wave of bad karma and sadness has come from. It seems to have touched the entire community. She hopes the winds of change will blow once again and rid WP of the clouds that have collected above it.

I just found out I'm having the top of my arm sawed off next week, and will be in the hospital for five days with a morphine drip after they pound a metal prosthesis in my arm. Yet some people choose to take this time to attack me. I'm not sure why, I'm not sure if I am the one with the bad karma, or what I did that would cause such a reaction.

I will stay under wraps until it is safe to come out.

 I can't believe the horrible time you are having! I feel so terrible for you! I have had 4 major surgeries and one of them was physically altering. I know how horrible you feel. I wish I could take your pain away until you are stronger. As for people who are attacking you, I don't know who they are but I would ignore them for now. You need to take care of you and there are those of us who want to be here for you. I really don't think it is you causing the bad karma as it is all over the site. I could say it is me because I started at the time the bad vibes began. So blame it on me for now and go get better!

Aylissa, bless you, holy mackerel! Next week? I am sure your support folks are there for you, but holy moly.

Because of a severe cervical stenosis, my arm goes limp from time to time, and the pain has me in a cold sweat at that time. It's basically paralyzed. So I wish you strength and success with your surgery--I have a bad enough time with what I have, I can't imagine your situation. I am so sorry you have to go through this.

Metta and karuna, Rjaye

Aylissa,

Just take it easy. You have a lot going on right now. Good thoughts to you.

Zanne

Afternoon all.

I'm feeling a bit less sorry for myself today. Thanks for the kind words BlessedMum & ZanneMarie.

My work life is just so strange at the moment. Perhaps what threw me yesterday was the fact we've decided that we've got a spy in the camp. Information is getting from the humble plebs to places it shouldn't, but we've tracked down the only possible source of the leak.

In some ways I'm feeling quite good today. I let my boss have it with both barrels on an issue that's really been p*ssing me off - and I got away with it :? Not gloating, just relieved that I didn't get in trouble over it.

Oh and this morning I told an irksome student to get lost - no matter how much you do to help this person, they always slag you off to your boss whilst smiling to your face. This time I am gloating - because they've been asking for it for weeks.

Aylissa - hope all goes well with the operation - you are in our thoughts.

DaQwerk - welcome to WP and the Cafe.

Good for you, Cerrunos! And good for all of you banding together to out the spy. We have one here too, but I gave him a Tiki doll for careers and he told me this morning he found a new job. I don't know what his deal is, but he told me he had to go through about 15 years of training just to be employable with his personality. He is still very strange. That's probably why I can get along with him! I was mad though when I found out he did something underhanded to get back at people. I'm too direct to handle that well. I'm more like you, Cerrunos, I will go right in and confront the person. I also forget quickly and don't dwell on things. I had been telling this guy that dwelling on this place was stealing his life and in 200 years, no one would even know this company ever existed so why bother giving it that much control. It's weird, I felt sorry for him in some ways and not in others. He does have something going on, but I don't think it's AS. He is super intelligent though and extremely eccentric.

Anyway, glad things are picking up for you. They seem to be for me as well.

I was always very direct, but soon discovered that I only had two speeds - full-on or not at all  . I don't confront people half as much as I used to, because my defence of my position always comes across as being aggressive, irrespective of what the other person did  . I even have to get my (vetted!) colleagues to check my "angry" e-mails before they go out - there have been times when I could have been in deep whatnot if I hadn't (not that I was wrong  ).

Glad to hear that things are picking up for you as well.

I have to get a "feeler" to check out my emails! Even my most innocent emails will provoke NTs if I don't do this. It's always surprising to me.

I also avoid the confrontations more now that I'm older. We're either learning how to navigate the world or we're just tired. LOL I used to be a little fireball!
