Ottakringer Dunkles, my no-longer-feline friend :) Bestest beer I ever had, hands-down. Even if you don't like dark beer, this one is a winner. It's not like the other beers. Sorta how we're not like the other boys and girls...

Ottakringer Dunkles: The beer with ASD! Or would that be BSD? Wait, isn't BSD also some kind of Linux reference?

Ottakringer Dunkles: The beer of Penguins! And Linux always (of course) reminds me of Linus from Peanuts.

Ottakringer Dunkles: The beer of Peanuts! Hmmm, beer and peanuts? Now I'm craving. Jeez, I'm going to quit now before all my "free-associations" lead me somewhere waaaay off topic.

So hear I European beer is better than the american beer. Once in a while I'll pop open a can of Budweiser while watching Nascar with my bro. My personal problem with Budweiser and most other cheap beers is that they taste a bit flat.

What american or european beers would you guys recommend?

Yuengling Lager, straight up, and if you ever get to pennsylvania, check out the microbreweries that are pretty much everywhere.

I have a "Men's forum" type question, but because of it's nature I've had to place it in the Adult Section.

Here is a link.

I'm sure you all knew that though since your a pretty smart group of people.

I haven't read the entire thread, so maybe I'm too late in this discussion. But I think it's a little silly to base too much on the existence or non-existence of a particular forum on a website. Besides, the women who post here aren't the ones who decide which forums there are.

I don't really know what you mean by that, but if you're implying that women think that men aren't entitled to express their opinions, then of course that isn't true.

Throughout history, there is always backlash against demographic groups that have been oppressed and then manage to gain some measure of empowerment. Whether you're talking about racial or religious minorities or women, it's no different now. The established order wants to maintain the established order.

My all-time favorite lager was Lowenbrau of Graffenwor, unfortunately the brewery closed in the mid-seventies, other than that I'm partial to ales. I used to brew my own beer and vint my own wine in my younger days.

I'm not opposed to a men's forum, however, my perception was the reason there was a women's forum and not a men's forum was, because men with AS/HFA outnumber women about 100 to 1, so the women's forum was created to discuss things specific to women as the website at large caters largely to men by default, and it would be expected that issues which pertain to men would be mainstream issues.

Oh! No wonder they were so upset when I answered '44D' in their "How Large is your Cup Size" question

But on a slightly more serious note, I wonder if this 100 to 1 disparity is representative of the actual manifestation of AS in women or if it is simply the result of a dearth of proper diagnosis? And I'm pronouncing that "diagnoseez" of course, in a proper nasal tone.

I didn't really answer in the Women's Forum. I think it's sorta weird when the opposite sex posts in a gender-specific forum, but I think that is just the "rule breaking" problem AS gives me. Hey, there's my question:

Should they or shouldn't they: Cross-gender posting in gender specific areas. What do you guys think (gals too if it moves you to answer)? Okay? Or creepy?

I think that women do better in relationships when the man is the boss. I look back on my past relationships, and the ones where the women wanted me the most were the ones where I was in charge. I mean women have it good in the western world, and yet they are not happy.

I hate leaders, so I hated myself when I was "wearing the trousers" in my first marriage, and I lost interest in her, though admittedly she didn't lose interest in me. There's got to be something better......surely some women out there are genuinely interested in sharing power? Or are we basically like dogs, who can only be content in a hierarchy?

They should have somewhere for male only issues just like we have the women's forum for ours.

I support the idea of a men-only forum.

(This is one more post of the 5 I need to post links, ugh.)

Men have their own issues. They should have their own section here.

My mom was an early feminist of sorts, so I grew up without the usual stereotypes. At my 1st real job in a big company, they asked me if I was OK having a female "foreman." I had to ask them to repeat the question - I'd been taking orders from women at home and school all my life.
Over the last several years, I've realized that women's logic does not extend to realizing that equality can cut both ways. The whole "women's movement" is intellectually squalid. I gave them the benefit of the doubt for decades, and that was more than enough. They said that we would have a kinder, gentler world with women in power, but there were women at every level from Condoleeza Rice to Lynnde England running Abu Gharib. British Columbia missed its chance for proportional representation because 3 women could not agree on whose version of it to support. I could write all night. . .

Ah, feminism.......sadly I agree that it does have its problems, which is a shame, because the original idea of getting equal power relations between the sexes was a good one. Unfortunately, like any other self-interested group, they didn't know when to stop. The power differences between men and women in modern capitalist society are nothing like as great as the power differences between the richest and poorest person, yet some "feminists" continue to call for "more women in the boardroom" as if that were more important than tackling the general rich-poor divide. And although women's earning power is now comparable to that of men, I see little evidence that women are OK about paying their way in marriage. Don't get me started on "girl power."
