Sorry to hear that Starr. I hope you're alright.

I've just said "bye" to my little old car - it just got too tired and finally flaked out (bit like me  ). My daughter cried when it went

Ah, sad isn't it, when they have to go.

I'm sure the insurance company will scrap mine, it's only worth about £700 Probably not worth the cost of repair

It's so annoying when some idiot wrecks your car though. I hope you got their details and they're insured. Some moron wrecked the front of our family car in a car park at work a few weeks ago, but neglected to leave any details. It caused £1500 of damage

That's awful!! I don't know how someone could do that. They mustn't have a conscience. Pity there wasn't a CCTV camera so you could have found out who did it.

The one that got me was a big Toyota 4X4 thing. There was hardly any damage to her car at all, just a bit of damage to the front bumper but mine's all crumpled in at the back. What made it worse was that she was only about 18, the driver, and she was laughing when she got out of the car saying 'my Dad will kill me'. You should be legally entitled to smack people like that

hi,
ok now... have to adjust my threadkilling skills a little,
can't be difficult with this hangover i've got from last night's halloween's party in the village
(this time it was real whisky ...)
maybe i could even kill this thread

Do a lot of people celebrate Halloween in Belgium/Europe?

I always thought it was a scottish thing that migrated to america

Here some shops are trying to commercialise it, but very few people take any notice or even know when it is. Although I had a couple of drinks with a school parents group last night and the Anglican minister (or are they called preists?) said its important to him as the eve of All Saints Day.

Lemon, I hope you enjoyed getting the hangover :D

I might not have killed this thread yet, but I'm down to Pg 3 on another forum :D

I notice Kilroy's comment on the Office Cooler is back to August ... I think that even beats my record in that thread LOL

You were very restrained Starr - things like that just make my blood boil

Good morning thread-enders! I'm up early this AM to kill this thread >>evil laughter<<

Starr hope your neck is better. Do you have to wear one of those cervical neck things? Maybe you should sue the person that hit you.

And Lemon hope your hangover is better!

Ah, thanks, it's just really stiff, it's not painful so long as I don't move it. Eyes forward, lol. No, I've not got a cervical collar. The doc said if he immobilized my neck I'd start twisting my lower back more and that's dodgy from a car accident years ago. I will mention the whiplash in the insurance form. I don't think I'll get another car though. Hubbo said I can borrow his if I want to go anywhere on my own. :)

Imagehehehe.

no, GETTING it, not having it. Did you enjoy the part/celebration :D

How do you get to have an art exhibition? The son of a guy I know (21 yrs old) just had an exhibition and sold all pieces. He said not for high prices, but enough to make him think he has a future as a full time artist. Looking at your work, I would expect you could too. :?

the party was a little weird, it was a village thing, the kids go around the whole village, have a lot of sweets and some of the parents invited everyone (we have a small village) to come and have a drink after that.
they gave me a lot of single malt whisky(which i just can't refuse  ), i don't even know whether i really enjoyed it, it all went so fast, and when i was still there it was like all was fine. when i got home, i couldn't even stand anymore and fell a few times, it was not really funny i guess, and the hangover was quite severe
(and yes, halloween is celebrated in almost any village/town in belguim, it's the only party that is kind of ruled by kids, maybe it came to belgium via television?)

for living of my paintings, i'd love to, but i'm not as socialy skilled as to find out how i should do that, i'm trying though.
the idea was now to do it online, with inventor who helps me in directing how and what i should do.
cause i'm really a bit of a chaotic artist who doesn't know how to handle such things. (although i am quite professional when it comes to my work itself i think)

i don't mind going to work though, it's a nice job, doing workshops with young people, with video/painting/journeys/etc, very creative and very active, i like that.
do you have a job too?

and the others here? anyone has a straight job?

Good morning threadkillers, how is everyone today?

Here there was a big firework party nearby last night and the air smells off burnt stuff :? A strange 'firework' smell, anyway.

Oh darn it! Lemon, I was determined to let you kill this thread before you leave (I know you'll be popping back but I meant when you start your job) but I couldn't let it go any longer. The threadkiller instinct is just too strong. :D

I haven't got a paid job at the moment, I help out at the adult literacy classes at our local library sometimes, but I've not worked full time for a few years.

I think it must be wonderful to have a job that you really enjoy, and get the chance to do art and creative things at the same time. To have fun at work must be brilliant. :D

There is one thing you should have though, before tomorrow...

Image

The lucky cat!! Lol. You can't start your job without the lucky cat!! :D

(I'm going to upload some of my glass paintings in the Art and Writing forum soon, so I'll PM you when I do)

I have just noticed that this thread has the most replies of all threads in this forum, apart from the Dino-Aspie Cafe.

8O Seems like there are many potential threadkillers but an indestructible thread! :)
