Aww,go ahead and let it out, it's in there and will likely just sit and simmer till something is done with it.

Quote:
I use to not care but I feel like everything is collapsing on me. I'm tired all the time, I've thought about relapsing,

Ahh, had something to say - where'd it vanish to in the last 12 seconds?

Quote:
and it's as if I'm just functioning but not existing. It's like I'm empty and out of ideas.

:? :( Frustrating way to be.

As well as AS there's a small collection of physical trouble including Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia - both of those can contribute to what you are describing - have a way to get checked out for those? If anyhtinh, look them up online and see if youcan find things to help with those symptoms?

I used to deal with a lot of curiosity about why I wasn't this that or the other but now at my age people have stopped asking. I figure they think it's too late for me anyway. I have no relationship, no social life and no big career but I'm strangely content. Go figure.

Anyway, life IS meaningless. It's only us that add the meaning to it. If you're NT, that meaning "naturally" has more to do with the meaning that the other normals around you are adding to it too, but if you're aspie it's up to you.

No, it was a cosmic allusion: God, shortly after creating our universe, took it back. It was a mistake, she said.

Everything since is just the ripples on the surface of the infinite as the rock that had ceased to be wasn't there any more.

MissConstrue whatever you do, do not relapse. If you can hold on to that one thing things will eventually be less acutely painful. If you do relapse we will lose you. It's easy to make cynical comments but whether we live in a vast meaningless void or not is not really the point. Your feelings aren't meaningless. They won't kill you either. Relapsing will, in a slow destructive downward spiral. Just ride it out and don't tell yourself you don't feel what you feel. Grief is a process that's highly individual. No one can tell you when it's passed. I know someone who does fine until the anniversary of her husband's death then she grieves intensely for a few days and then comes out of it. Try to do small things to comfort yourself and don't try to figure it all out. Be grateful you can feel.

I read a book that said pervasive thoughts are the ones that nature doesn't reward us for, whereas if we keep up a modicum of thought flowing through various different angles of reflection, we tend to be rewarded with 'happy mind.' I know that sounds like one more slap in the face for someone with AS, (frankly, I thought so, too) but it's true dwelling is never something that's done when one is content.

Nature rewards us accordingly when we do what it wants... I waste time on youtube.
