I am so bloody tired and yet can't sleep......or sleep like the dead for a few hours only to wake up feeling like I have been hit by a train.

Sick of talking, sick of listening......so so tired.

My son is being a turd, even if I love him to bits.

My mother keeps telling me that if I exercise more, my Chronic fatigue syndrome will get better all on its own 8O

My legs hurt so much I can barely walk somedays

I have just gotten over a massive bout of shingles

I am being tested for ADHD and the psych clinic is taking its time to place me  Just want it DONE!! !

I have never wished for menopause as much as I do now. The HRT I am on for peri is doing something, but I am wiped out as my body does hormonal battle with itself.

I have, and I am not complaining about this as its great that I have good docs.......BUT

a thyroid surgeon,
2 GP's.......one specialises in CFS
A gyneacologist
A psychologist
A psychiatrist

and I am getting another psych as well that deals with AS with Minds and Hearts(Clinic run by Prof Tony Attwood).

I am trying to write a flowchart of history for my new psych, a flowchart of history for my new GP........and as much as they are all WONDERFUL and I would be much worse off without them, I just can't talk anymore.......major shutdown.

I am on disability, my hands ache, I am feeling so NASTY, vicious, temperamental and basically human refuse. My brain fog is horrendous, I am watching reruns of Monty Python like my life depends on it and I JUST CAN'T THINK!! !! !

Gosh someone get me a violin and a box of tissues......

This is SO hard right now.

Wow, you're already going through menopause at 36? And you didn't hit puberty until 15, as you stated in another thread? There's something wrong, and I DON'T think it's CFS, and I DO think you need to be properly diagnosed. Somebody said that there are several other syndromes that can look like CFS. HRT isn't necessarily best for ALL perimenopausal women, in fact it can do great harm to some. There was a study in the US a few years ago that said that HRT can really harm some women, badly. You'd better get a second opinion before you're screwed up beyond repair. 36 is too young to be damaged beyond repair, I'm 35 myself and I feel old and even have gray hair, but my grandfather lived to be 88 and my great grandmother died at 94. That means I've potentially got another SIXTY YEARS! 8O 8O You don't want to feel like this for six decades do you? You need help.

Hi Pezar,

Yep, that is true and I actually started peri at 31 but did not get dx until 36 after years of feeling pretty unwell and no-one knowing what was wrong. 2 doctors had brought up peri in that time but discounted it due to my age. My new GP was the one that dx me. I have had thyroid ultrasounds, thyroid biopsies, tests for ceoliacs, Lupus, RA, stomach ulcers multitudes of blood counts, at least 5 pelvic ultrasounds in the last 5 years(I do have endometriosis and eadenomyosis as well as cysts and fibroids.) and recurrent viral and bacterial infections, mainly shingles and sinus infections.

My GP was hoping that the HRT would eliminate some of the fatigue, but it is not to be. It has helped the terrible hot flashes, some of the insomnia, my libido is showing its face more, I don't get as many headaches, my skin isn't as dry and my hair isn't falling out as much. I have had fatigue for the last 5 years, long before I started HRT. I have had sleep studies done because they thought it was narcolepsy. I have had unexplained seizures in the past, hallucinations(not related to psychosis), falling asleep standing up and so on.

The blood has always remained elusive for answers, it has been ruled out as being a heinous manifestation of a Somatic Disorder(Hypochondriasis, somatisation and so on), three-legged badger syndrome or anything along those lines........I have had A LOT of testing. As it stands, I am in peri, I have ototoxic bilateral vestibulopathy and CFS(not sure why yet, but my symptoms fit)......

So, yes you could say it is a bit freaky about my age, but I have spoken to women who are in peri and they are younger than me. One of those women had not had a tubal ligation. It is rare and uncommon but not impossible.

Whoever said that meno is a "natural" (being somehow good for you and a perfectly harmless biological process  8O) process is kidding........it is like someone put a combine harvester in my body.

Thanks for your reply,

Mics

I have CFS and fibromyalgia (have had it for 25+ years; it started gradually and then got worse and worse). Your symptoms, the ones related to fatigue and pain in your legs, sound to me like CFS.

With CFS it's very important not to exert yourself (do not exercise unless it's very slow non-aerobic exercise, kind of like the program "Sit and Be Fit" on TV) and it's very important to get a lot of rest. Even if you can't sleep, just lying down is better than sitting up. If you have to sit, put your feet up. If you have to prepare food, sit on a stool while doing it. Rest as much as you can.

I find I also need to rest my mind, not just my body, Sometimes I have to lie down and just zone out, or watch TV. Reading is too much on those occasions (which happen almost daily).

Any exertion will knock me out for days afterward, sometimes weeks, so I have to ration my activities very carefully.

In short, my advice is: REST! :)

I have terrible anxiety and depression too (not related to the CFS), and right now the meds that are helping me are Abilify and Lamictal in combination, at very low dose. I've only been on them for two weeks but I feel more cheerful, like a weight has been lifted (this may be slightly atypical though, so I'm not saying the same thing will necessarily work for you). Two months ago I was falling apart. I felt like I was hanging on by my fingernails, and I dreaded how I was going to make it through the next hour, every hour of the day. It was terrible. But I'm doing somewhat better, so please be hopeful that things hopefully will get better for you too. (I understand that you're dealing with many more issues than I am.)

I'm 46 btw.

sounds like your immune system is down. What do websites about CFS recommend? It can be tough when people dont understand. Have you tried progesterone cream, if the HRT is not working? I hope you feel better...
