Would you ever let your son/daughter to meet up with someone they have only met online?

I haven't met up with anyone online before and although i haven't specifically asked, I think my parents (specifically my mom) doesn't even like the idea of people talking to strangers online.

I'm asking this because aspies on this forum had met up with each other before.

My primary worry would be that they were meeting up with someone who wasn't what they pretended to be online. If I was invited me to go along, that would take care of a lot of my worries.

I don't know how that would match up with your situation, though. I'm an aspie parent, which your mom probably isn't, and I was kind of thinking of my daughter when she gets to that age rather than my son.

I can't decide. My son is too young for it to be an issue and I don't know how independent he'll be when he gets older. I think while he is still needing guardianship, I would want to be there. If he becomes an independent adult and makes his own decisions, well, then he makes his own decisions. I wouldn't vote never, since I've met people online myself.
