Legal ramifications in the US for breach of medical privacy?
I'm curious if anyone has had a similar experience. Work has become very complicated. I work for the US government, and my boss has decided to get rid of me due to my AS. I have been VERY VERY clear after I provided him with medical documentation that it was to be kept private. I was clear with everyone involved, have it written down, have it sealed in our personel office, have it witnessed by our EEO counselor, and he keeps telling me that he would never, ever tell anyone about my condition. I have now found out that our secretary has been listening in to phone conversations between my supervisor, his supervisor, and our regional EEO representative and that they did nothing to stop it.
Hm. Anybody got any experience with what happens with a breach of privacy?
My advice would be to keep any evidence which you have and contact a laywer, sorry I have no experience of living in the US so I know next to nothing about US law.

Diagnosed under the DSM5 rules with autism spectrum disorder, under DSM4 psychologist said would have been AS (299.80) but I suspect that I am somewhere between 299.80 and 299.00 (Autism) under DSM4.
