You need a lawyer. Hire one to get your kids back.

What were the specifics? Your post is eloquent, so it's hard to believe that you are "borderline ret*d."

Did you have food in the refrigerator? Was your house clean? Were they going to school or being educated in some way? Was there access to emergency services if there was a fire or some other kind of emergency situation? I.e. a phone available to you and the kids? Did the kids have their own places to sleep? Were they witness to any adult situations, such as sexual situations or drug abuse? These are usually the reasons why social services put kids in another home.

If none of those things were an issue, I would go get yourself tested again and challenge this judgement that you're borderline ret*d. There are lots of stupid people in the world, and they get along just fine. Being on the autism spectrum (I assume this is the case?) doesn't mean you are unqualified as a parent.

If one of the things I listed above WAS an issue, you can work on resolving the issue. For example, let's say that you live in a home where there isn't a door on the bathroom and the kids are sleeping with you. You could get a door for the bathroom (so they wouldn't be "exposed") and get defined sleeping spaces for each child. Then a social services representative would come by and make a report that you had remedied the situation(s).
