Executive Functioning difficulties are common for people on the Autism Spectrum
What Is Executive Functioning?
Quote:
The executive functions are a set of processes that all have to do with managing oneself and one's resources in order to achieve a goal. It is an umbrella term for the neurologically-based skills involving mental control and self-regulation.
One process is initiation
Quote:
Initiation - The ability to begin a task or activity and to independently generate ideas, responses, or problem-solving strategies.
Is this a recent problem or a problem that has gotten worse lately?. If so it might be what is informally known as "Autistic burnout". It is excerbated by trying to "pretend to be normal" over a period of time.
