Does anyone here 18 and older have a guardian? Before I turned 18 I went to court and my grandma, grandma, and aunts became my guardian.

And are you actually in need of a guardian for some reason?

What are the reasons that you need it for?

I'm just curious.

I imagine you mean stick up for you when you make some sort of mistake. What types of mistakes do you make?

You can have a guardian assigned to you by the court up until age 21. Older if mental evaluation states you require one.

When my family moved to the US my sister and I arrived first. We were both above 18 ..she was 18 and I was 22. For legal reasons I had to become her legal guardian for the 1 year we lived alone until our parents sold their assets in the home country and moved to the US.

So basically if she committed any crime or got into debt I would be responsible for it. I was also legally responsible for her safety and well-being.

So yes, parent teacher meetings were awkward on her last year of high school ... I had to go as the 'parent' LOL.
