I was doing some serious thinking tonight about having Asperger's Syndrome and being rejected by certain people who were mad at you in the past. It seems no matter how much you succeed in your life, they still find it in their hearts to brush you to the side because you have some behavior or manner that continues to turn them off. Meanwhile, everyone else seems to be accepted.
EG- I was thinking about a situation tonight where I have certain family members, who although mean well, seem to pick you apart for absolutely everything if you do something wrong. Anyway, there was even a time where I thought we would forgive each other and start over fresh. However, they made some poor choices that really bothered me and so I spoke my mind a few years ago. This then led me to be blocked by two of these members on FB without bothering me talk to me. It was not like I stole anything or did beat them up.
Meanwhile, they seem to be more accepting of my sibling who makes one bad choice after another. I don't get it.
Do you ever feel like a certain behavior is expected out of you because of having a disorder?
