Witchy Neighbor (not Wiccan type)
Most people in my town seem to be quite nice. Unfortunately, my next-door neighbor is the exception. She is a nosey busybody, and she has taken a disliking to me (and I to her). Recently, I received a letter from a town councilperson stating that there had been a complaint made about my property. I feel the complaint was unjustified, and I am sure she is the source of it. Nonetheless, as the issue was minor and easily addressed, I complied. Now, however, I am afraid she will feel victorious and will continue to make petty complaints against me. I can think of several honest complaints I could make against her; should I?
No, not unless the issues are actual dangers to public safety. First, you suspect the neighbor is the source, but you have no way of actually knowing this. It may easily be someone else in the neighborhood who didn't want to upset a generally good relationship, or the result of some random person passing by who saw something they felt needed to be addressed. Second, even if your suspicions are true, do you really want to become as petty and disruptive as she is? Personally, I'd have a good private laugh about it, then ignore the biddy and go on with enjoying my life.
Dear Yippy, I'd suggest that you take pictures all over your property, make sure there is nothing questionable. If she pulls something like this again, you have something to go to the council with. Also, ask THEM to take pictures whenever she complains, puts the burden of proof on her. So sorry you are going through this. Sylkat
