I 'know' logically that these are just labels, and the brain science beneath is fairly unclear. So I'm a little surprised that this change has actually caused me feelings. Initially it disturbed me. I guess I had thought of myself as being Asperger but not autistic, and now I'm needing to re-evaluate that. However in some ways it's feeling releasing; perhaps allowed to be even more different from NT's...

Just wondered how anyone else felt/thought about it?

Lol!

I heard it when it came out. What has surprised me is that it's still in my mind now, many days later.

But I take your point, and happy to see thread die.

There's a long live thread on it in the general forum.

You are in the right area- didn't mean to kill your thread!

Maybe it does have a larger impact on those who had the label longer..

I was very happy to see that change in semantics, personally. It reenforces the idea that autism is a spectrum, so people shouldn't hold preconceived notions about what we are or are not capable of based on what label is applied.
