Money management, administration, taxes.
How are you with your money management, administration and taxes? Do you keep track of it all without effort?
I am asking this because I don't. I made a big mess of it when I was single, and eventually got a professional to manage my finances. (voluntarily)
Now my partner does most of it.
However, I have been self-employed and got into trouble with managing my taxes. I have never earned enough to have to pay taxes - way too little in fact- but still I am paying taxes, because I filled out something incorrectly. I called the tax office and they were unfriendly and nasty and not at all helpful, so now I just pay it anyway, because I'm afraid to call again and ask what to do.
I'm also very worried that I might do something that is not legal - tax and money wise- because I don't understand or I overlook something.
I could get an accountant, but that is costly too, plus I have heard that some of them don't really do their job properly and you have to chase it up yourself anyway.
Because it is so hard and stressful I am now giving up this whole self-employment thing. Which is a pity because it's a field of work that I am actually good at, and I am not so good at keeping ordinary jobs.
I think that if I did not have my partner I would be homeless and penniless by now, which is a horrible feeling.
