What age did you all start living on your own, with someone or in a group home?

left home at 22, got laid off from job, lost apartment, homeless, went back home to my parents [age 23] with tail between legs, forced to join military, between 23 and 27 was in mean green machine living in army barracks [no fun at all :x ], then ETS to parents' house to be their caretaker until their passing 6 years ago. well past "a certain age" now and living alone, as a hermit in the woods since 2008.

I've been completely on my own since I was sixteen. I too joined the military, though I did so straight out of high school; I graduated high school Friday, and was in navy boot camp Monday morning. As bad as serving on a navy ship was, it was infinitely preferable to living with my family.

I left home at 23, after graduating from college. Prior to that, I lived at home, while commuting to a local state university.

It was only many years later, that I got diagnosed with Aspergers.

It wasn't until I graduated college at age 26 that I was then able to get a job away from home and have other than a few roommates on occasion, lived by myself. Before that, I bounced around between parents for most of my life except for the six years it took me to complete college.

A week after I turned 17 I was in the Royal Navy.

When I came out I got a bedsit when I was 20, been living on my own ever since apart from a few months when I rented a room out to friends when I first got my own house.
