Hello everyone, this is my first post. I just got diagnosed earlier this year with Aspergers. An issue I've had all my life seldom occurring has been more frequent and intense. When I wake up most mornings my skin feels tingly with needles and as if it is vibrating, I can sense my hair follicles being disturbed all over as well. Sometimes it hurts and I feel like screaming until my lungs empty of air. By the time I calm down I am drained of energy. I don't know what to do as this is interfering with my job.

This might have to do with either your choice of sleeping attire and/or your blankets: specifically the material it's made of.

have you tried taking those fabrics to the doctor and let him test you for allergies?

Alternatively, try getting smooth materials only (silk sleeping attire and the smooth blankets, don't get wool or equivalent)

Thank you izzeme, I will try that. I have been experimenting with different materials. At the moment my resources are quite limited, I don't have a bed so I sleep on two corduroy cushions on the floor and I sleep with a blanket with a blend of %60 acrylic and %40 cotton, and also a microfiber blanket. I live in an efficiency apartment with my girlfriend and she sleeps on the larger couch. But even without these elements involved I have been waking up like this, I noticed that it started to intensify after I came home from boot camp.

This looks similar to what I experience when my overall stress level gets too high and I don't follow self-care routines for relaxation and recovery. It could be that your system has been pushed over into continual fight or flight mode. Are there other symptoms, like your heart rate staying high instead of dropping, or twitching/jumping in response to sudden events (noises, light level changes, etc)?

Hmm. Acrylic and microfiber could cause static electricity...
You said, yoy tried different materials, but has there been a test in which you used only cotton?

ALSO: have you tried a different washing powder? One without additives/ softeners, perfume etc.

Not saying a sensory issue is excluded, I'm extremely sensitive to sound for an hour after waking up. I also know the sensation of painful hair-follicles, but I can't recall the situation.

You might find out whether you are in the field of any electromagnetic appliances. I find that these sometimes disturb my sleep or even make me feel nauseated.
