I have been referred for a global psychological assessment. Anyone know what this is, why it is nessecary? I am quite nervous as most of these things I am too honest with, and as it being used to assess suitability of me being a parent, this is a concern.

i recently spoke with an old friend of mine who suspects she may have a few psychological conditions (not ASD, although her daughter has ASD), but she will NOT undergo diagnosis or testing because her understanding is that this could then be used against her in a custody or suitability hearing (or whatever it might be called). And she's an AWESOME single mom. I don't have much more to add about that, but I'm curious myself as I may choose to have a child in the future and I wonder what impact a diagnosis or diagnoses could have?

I thought they quit using this scale and it was only used up to the DSM IV for diagnosing. :?
