What's a good site for a blog/social networking?

I'm looking for a website where I can meet people who are roughly my age or older (or at least mature).

I have blogs on livejournal.com and dreamwidth.org, but I haven't got many followers or met many people that way. I just looked at tumblr and it seems full of youth culture/pictures/kind of shallow? I definitely don't want a Facebook account because I'll just get spied on.

There seem to be an awful lot of blogs by autistic people on Wordpress. I don't like it personally because Wordpress once stole money from me but that's where almost every blog I read is based. Mine is on Blogger.
