I.e., have you grown out of or learned to work around or in other ways don't really have problems that you used to have?

For me:

From when I learned to write I 1. couldn't manage to use spaces between words even though I knew what I did and that I shouldn't. 2. had really bad handwriting, so I always wrote in caps.
So it'd look like THEQUICKBROWNFOXJUMPSOVERTHELAZYDOG.
My handwriting is ok if not great now and I use spaces.

I moved really stiff, e.g. never swung my arms when walking.
I still need to think about my arms, but it's practically gone.

I couldn't make myself walk slowly or take only one step in stairs.
I still prefer a quick pace, but now I can manage moving around together with others.

I still misunderstand others and get misunderstood, but not nearly as often.

When I did something that I realized was weird, I'd convince myself that it was a part of who I was, and kept doing it. One example is from not that long ago when I was in my own little world and forgot to say "hello" to a co-worker a couple of times, then I kept not greeting her since I thought that would be less weird than starting greeting her again.
Now I have as a rule to talk to the person and explain myself as soon as possible after such things happens.

I'm sure there are other things too...

I've learned a lot of tricks to overcome my poor hand-eye coordination. Of course, I still suck at all ball sports, but for other purposes, I've learned to use sense of touch instead of sight to finish the task.

The difficulties that I used to have, I still have. Unless situation changed and made the difficulties disappear

Some of the difficulties that I used to not have, I now have. Itching. Whatever.

Handwriting has always been bad. However I do not write in all upper case. It comes across as yelling. it takes longer. it is still messy . Instead I prefer all lower case

Furthermore I am neither left nor right handed.

Ambiguous

Ambisinister

Ball sports I have always been bad at

But I have not played ball sports for many years so I don't know

But no way could I be good at ball sports

Yeah I've "developed" itching too, though I think it's unrelated.

As for ball sports, my problem is that my eyes have different focus (focal?) points (I read with one eye and look at more distant things with the other), which makes it hard for me to determine how far away things are.

I'm far from ambidextrous but I can do some things lefthanded, sometimes better than righthanded. I've learned that this has, at least in a way, to do with eye dominance, I'm righthanded but lefteyed...

For those that don't know about eye dominance,
Look at an object close and another further away, cover one eye, then cover the other. If the objects don't move that's your dominant eye.
Fun fact: I just realized writing this that I'm right eyed at close distance, possibly related to the different focal points of my eyes.

Difficulties themselves are still the same.

Some are just better, some are worse in some respects -- all rooted from awareness level, processing speed and fluctuating working memory across varying timespan than specific trait itself in phases of life.

Current issue is more of an encompassing regulation issue that causes difficulties than difficulty itself.
Current priority here is control than outcomes because outcomes are just consequences of being able to control.

The closest I got was the issue of anxiety at age 10-16.
Experience says it's more of a state no different from emotion that the mind thought it was 'safe' than a long term difficulty (rooted from mishanding autism overtime) to avoid or manage.

There are no known sources as to how an autistic is able to overcome longterm and/or persistent forms of anxiety as opposed to working around or coping from it. :skull:
No sources said about outgrowing severe autistic anxieties, or autistics losing several triggers and overcoming anxiety inducing patterns, much so before adulthood.

And I (still) do not have the best writing skills to describe my own case of 'why'.

i useta not be able to multitask at all. for example, i couldn't properly play the drumset or the organ as i had a hard time making one limb do something differently from another limb, but as i've grown older i've gotten a bit better at that. also as a kid i absolutely could not swallow pills. thankfully as an old man who requires lots of pills just to not be dead, i can swallow them by the handful now.

^ I used to be able to multitask and now I can hardly do one thing at a time. When I was younger, I could swallow massive amounts of pills (huge vitamin gel caps) at once. Can't anymore.

OTOH, I stopped chewing my nails when I was about 20. Repulses me now.

I bit my nails til I was 30, now I chew on the skin next to the nails.
I ate my snot way longer than what is socially accepted.
I could go grosser, but I'll leave it for your immagination...

I used to have problems socializing. Then I took acting lessons. Now, when I want to talk to someone, I ask myself "How would <fictional character name> handle this?" Then I assume a personality like that character's, and proceed. While I am not being myself, I am at least socializing and communicating.

Social anxiety (Now I like being with people, especially those who share common interests).

Wasn't athletic at all and tended to be clumsy (Now I play tennis).

Trouble with mechanical things (Still have that)

As for multitasking, I can do it, but it's an ineffective way to work.
