Do we make our wants our needs. At the end of the day all you really need is food and shelter to survive.

With consumerism do people get unhappy because they feel they need certain things in their life that are not really needed?

I feel wanting less is key to happiness. But also we need goals that are meaningful in our lives to strive for.

Well said.

Now, how would one define something as meaningful would be key.

Also, do you think there is a correlation between what someone would define as meaningful and what they would see as needs vs. wants?

Might be worth considering the difference between surviving and living.

Did you say that wasn't proper? Did you march out on the track?
You were quiet, just like mice. And now you say that we're not nice.
Well thank you buddy for your advice...

Maybe something that someone defines as meaningful is a want. Living just to survive doesn't seem to have much meaning. :chin:

Maybe having wants is a need, because without wants there is no meaning.
