I figured us older autism spectrum people needed our anthem about that which did not have a name.

Here's a nod to the insights of the writers of Rudolph the Rednosed Reindeer.

We're A Couple of Misfits

We're a couple of misfits
We're a couple of misfits
What's the matter with misfits
That's where we fit in!
We're not daffy and dilly
Don't go 'round willy nilly
Seems to us kinda silly
That we don't fit in.
We may be different from the rest
Who decides the test
Of what is really best?
We're a couple of misfits
We're a couple of misfits
What's the matter with misfits
That's where we fit in!
--(this part sung by Rudolph)--
Why am I such a misfit?
I am not just a nit wit!
I'm an adorable reindeer
Why don't I fit in?
--(this part sung by Hermey)--
Why am I such a misfit?
I am not just a nit wit!
They can't fire me.
I QUIT!
We may be different from the rest
Who decides the test
Of what is really best?
We're a couple of misfits
We're a couple of misfits
What's the matter with misfits
That's where we fit in!

And here's what the Misfit Toys say about themselves in between the song about Misfit Toys. They are the best toys but nobody knows ir!

How would you like to be a Spotted Elephant?
Or a Choo-Choo with square wheels on your caboose?
Or a water pistol that shoots -- jelly?
We're all misfits!
How would you like to be a bird that doesn't fly? I swim!
Or a cowboy who rides an ostrich?
Or a boat that can't stay afloat?
We're all misfits.

The fact that Rudolph later disgraced this song by singing a new version with Frosty the Snowman is the main reason the original Rudolph will always be my favorite Rankin Bass Holiday special, and not the awesomely convoluded epic, "Rudolph and Frosty's Christmas in July".

I think both of you have drug this whole christmas thing out a bit too long... don't you?

I like that song actually... but you won't catch me singing it in February.. even if you threatened me with the Abominable Snowman!

btw... for the office christmas exchange thing this last christmas I got a little statue of Yukon Cornelius! Because the gal who gave it to me thought we looked alike... LOL ... he's hanging in my truck now with my little pirate.

Actually, I think that song was pulled and replaced in later versions of the Rudolph "cartoon". I'm pleased to see it reinstated (and to hell with being PC) for the DVD.

I've always identified with that song.

I love that song, and that Christmas cartoon. I also think that Christmas is a lot better than Valentine's Day. Everybody is loved in December. Only worthy partners are loved, on Valentine's Day.
