I don't think I fit this trait, as I think I understand irony and sarcasm when I agree with the feelings/thoughts the individual is advocating...ie...John Stewert/Johnathon Swift,(satire more then sarcasim). I find it annoying as heck when it comes from those whose thoughts I disagree with

Most people are so obvious in their verbal intonations when using sarcasm that I can detect it (especially teenagers) but I'm sure I miss the more subtle stuff of many adults. I think it is easier to detect in writing and when you already know the basic beliefs of the speaker .

I watched the video they provided and had no problem detecting the vocal intonation of sarcasm but it was also evident how passive agressive such communicatin stye is<---(sarcasm is latin? for "tearing of flesh"). I guess I personally prefer satire to sarcasm because it reveals truths by taking a person out of their "stuck" gestalt/paradigms and is pretty aspie to me.

Sarcasm and wit are the highest forms of humour. They require the most mental dexterity as well as an understanding of timing and delivery.

Interesting article. My granny doesn't understand jokes or healthy forms of sarcasm anymore. This article's kind of helped me understand why she acts the way she does when any of us joke with her. It's pretty sad, we have to be real careful with what we say around her.

I am incapable of irony, because irony takes some imagination, and promptness, at least in face to face conversation. I may understand other people's irony if it is not directed at me, in which case I feel bloodily wound. Sarcasm takes more aggressiveness, I lack it, and as of sarcasm being directed at me see above, but the wounds are annihilating. There may be also some sort of well meaning irony, but it must be interpreted as well meaning and I don't have that capacity.
