I dont really like to watch television that much. My mom says I'm the only person she knows that doesnt watch tv- I prefer to listen to music and play my acoustic guitar. I like to read as well. I just cannot take watching TV

I agree, most TV is trash. Now I go to youtube for video, and yahoo and rotten for news. I like some science programs and also comedy central, but right now my TV is out and I don't have time to fix it or watch it. I am not convinced, though, that shunning TV altogether necessarily make a person smarter, healthier or happier. I know some people who avoid TV completely and still are just as unbalanced as someone who watches it for 12 hours a day.

i try to watch telly once ina while, but i get bored of it pretty quickly or just kind of over stimulated and sick feeling.

in theory i do like some tv comedy, but only at my sisters house. i also watch nature programmes and old films when i am at my grandmothers house.

i love radio though and especially bbc radio's 4 & 7 - it's mostly comedy, sci-fi, plays, current affairs, etc.

I used to enjoy the history and science channels, and programs like "Nova" on PBS, but I've noticed over the last several years that they've "dumbed" them down quite a bit. I particularly remember a program about Mary, Queen of Scots, and Elizabeth I of England - they said Elizabeth became queen when Queen Mary "died suddenly".

While I appreciate the humor involved, I'm not sure it was intentional and so pretty much quit watching tv altogether. I do prefer the written word over the spoken, anyway, and had taken to putting the closed captions setting to "on" on the TV. The captions tend to not be word-for-word translations and that can sorta defeat the purpose.

I like the geographical type of programmes like Planet Earth and things to do with weather or some of the science progs.

Michael Palin in Himalaya is good.

I can't stand most TV. Most TV is trash to me. I am so glad I NEVER bought another TV after my second group home attacker tore up the last TV I had 2 years ago :)! I had to stop watching the news years ago cuz the media just loves the shock factor. I love YouTube though. All I ever used to watch on TV was the news. After getting real delusional from having watched the news in 2004 & 2005, I had to stop watching the news. I DON'T miss my TV at all! My one grandma (mom's mom) keeps forgetting that I don't watch TV. But I just have my mom remind her...I DON'T watch TV! I do kinda miss watching National Geographic, the History Channel, Discovery Health, and other nonfiction channels on cable. I'm definitely going to buy a projector. Maybe I should buy a DVD recorder with a built-in HDTV tuner to hook up to it & get cable TV service so that I can watch the few channels I like on cable. I'm 80% certain it's not really worth the money though.

I rarely and infrequently watch TV. I just can't make myself sit through a film or series without getting distracted and bored, unless it is really interesting.

Sometimes I feel like watching and do. Mostly in the middle of the night, when horror films are on.

But usually, I just leave the TV in my back, turn it mute to have the additional sensory input of statical TV noise.

With the exception of a few episodes of "House" (perhaps 10 or so), I haven't watched television in 9 years. I don't like it, I'm not interested, all of the ads are irritating, and the programming is little better (or even worse). So no, I'm not into TV at all, and I renounced it when I was in junior high and everyone else filled their entire day with it.

I have a love/hate relationship with my TV. I find most things on TV these days as too formulaistic. Nevertheless, I am addicted to flipping channels with the button hoping to find some interesting tidbit or to numb the brain. This addiction of mine must stop as I wish to become much more active and get to sleep sooner. I have gone cold turkey but am suffering withdrawal and am worrying about relapse. Any suggestions?

I like some tv a lot. Jerry Orbach in Law & Order was good and I like Babylon 5 because it was put together as one story unlike Star Trek, which had 1) the 3rd Reich in space 2) 1920s gangland Chicago in space 3) Abe Lincoln in space 4) tribbles and a bunch of other stupid s**t in space!

I also like MXC :D , Frontline and Nova, but I got pissed at the cable company in July of 2006 and have not cared enough to get the channels back. It would be nice if I could actually claim that this has made me smarter, or a better person, but I don't think so. On the other hand, if I spent my time watching idiot shows like Survivor, Jerry Springer or Dr. Phil, then I would definitely feel like tv is helping devolve me into something less than sentient.

I say I'm not into it, but if I were to add up the hours, I'd probably be over the national average. I catch snippets of shows, I have no idea when the few that I like are on, except...the freakin news, I'm a damn junky. As it turns out, it can be a trigger for rages, so I've backed off some, a lot actually. Now, that doesn't end it there, I use the TV as white noise at night (what passes as night anyway) and I often find myself getting caught up in movies (B if I can find them) or other odd ball stuff. Hell if it hadn't been for a show on CNN about Autism I wouldn't have had a clue about AS. Now if you add in, my face glued to a monitor, you'd have to have a screen on close to 24/7 to catch me.

I hardly ever watch it...when I turn it on it's mostly for the background noise, sometimes the house is "too quiet"...I'm usually doing other things or reading.

The most I ever watch it is when I'm sick and can't do anything else.

I rarely get a chance to watch it anymore and when I do there's nothing but garbage on. The only show I like that comes on everyday is M*A*S*H. I go crazy if I get to watch it everyday.
