Doesn't seem I'll ever truly be on my own.

My mom and step dad are looking for property to buy and if they do they'll have me live there in a trailer and pay rent to them my problem with this is it makes me dependent on them because they'll give me a tiny rate to pay them... I want to move out very badly and live on my own but to do that I'll have to live on a tiny pay check and leave behind all my beloved pets so that I can live in a ghetto and worry about getting shot in the cross-fire. I just want people to discuss the this really not answer it so much but in discussion maybe I'll find the answer.

When my parents built their house they built a small cottage in back for me to live in. They tried charging me rent, but I couldn't afford even the $200 that they wanted, so they dropped it. It did make me want to earn my own money so that I could have my own place. Before that I spent seven years living in travel trailers behind my grandfather's house. He pretty much let me do what I wanted, although I couldn't have girls over. I made payments on the credit card used to buy the trailer, but other than that I didn't pay rent. Since rent started shooting up here in 1998, I haven't been able to afford an apartment. I was just glad to have a place to stay and be able to afford a car. If you can't afford an apartment, and your parents aren't the type to put your balls in a vise simply because they can, I don't see any problem with it.

I've got a job it's just I couldn't make enough to live on my own I'd have to get a roommate at this point just to get a good one but yeah they aren't well my mom isn't. My stepdad is pretty roundly disliked by myself and my siblings and it's no secret either but my mother is very protective of all of us and me especially as I've had AS my whole life and had to pretty much be taken care of more closely than the other plus I'm the baby. I doubt she'd even make me move out soon except that I've told her many times that I wanna move out and would happily do so if I had the money and if they wanna give me a cheap rent I'll pay it. As for my car I don't have the money to pay that but they do it for me I only make a few hundred a month and thats when I work 36 hours which I don't do right now sadly.

A solid job and a good education are a must before thinking about moving out. Also, a wife or roommate come in handy when the rent is due. The problem with roommates is that they will be bringing their girlfriends.
