What do you do to get yourself back together?

How long does it take you to feel back to 'normal'?

It really depends on the meltdown..I have been out of it for as long as a month, and then sometimes it takes a week or a day..or sometimes I don't have a "meltdown hangover" at all..

Given music and solitude, I can recover in a matter of hours, though two or three days alone is the best stress reliever there is.

That and prodigious amounts of alcohol. I call it 'Emotional Novacaine".

Don't you judge me!

Snoogans.

I usually have to talk to family -- my brother or sister (both AS) -- in order for me to recover. If for whatever reason I don't talk to them, I can end up in a meltdown funk for months...

However one talk with them and I'm ok after a few hours. Being around people who really understand you and your needs helps recharge the batteries a lot, even if I end up arguing with them about trivial stuff! We always get over it and are ok next time we talk.
