This is what my dream book says about some symbols in your dream. It's in German so I hope that I translated everything understandably.

Pillar
General: A pillar in a dream could be a phallic symbol. It is also possible that the pillar represents the dreamer's wish to create stability and to be able to cope with difficulties. If the dreamer is a "pillar of society" in his dream, it is possible that he should be more responsible for his actions.
Psychological: Pillars in a dream are a hint to some form of support. If the dreamer sees that the pillar is a supporting one, then he should take a close look at the structure of his life that he chose.
Spiritual: On the spiritual level, two pillars show the difference between the feminine and masculine or the difference between spiritual and material forces.
Hovering
General: In classic dream interpretation hovering is commonly connected with the dreamer's sexuality. Another interpretation of this symbol could be the need for freedom it expresses. If the dreamer is carried away without his consent, he fully opens himself to the force between his conscious self. He's in a state of deep relaxation and just follows the flow of events.
Psychological: The dreamer is undecided, because he isn't choosing the direction himself. He should think (more carefully) about his actions and his relationships with others.
Spiritual: On this level hovering could be an outer-body-experience of the mind.
Father
If the relationship with the dreamer's father is okay, then the dreamer's father should appear in a positive light in the dream. The father represents authority and conventional forms of law and order.
