richard, are you more asking if it's normal to not want this to form a huge part of your life and not want to get involved in all the debates? Because I totally understand that, I'm completely falling back into music at the moment and not feeling interested in autism at all. I think it's perfectly normal to find other things more interesting. *prepares to get flamed* a lot of things ARE more interesting...

I find the whole concept of being proud of my aspergers bizarre. Not that I'm ashamed of it, just... neutral. It's just another fact about me, like I'm tall and have blue eyes. I'm not proud of those things. I'm proud of things I achieve and I'm not going to say that I owe all those things to AS, I owe them to getting off my arse and working.
