If the NT´s see us like this:
Assburgers Syndrome mocking page
And even I think some off it is funny!

Are we not being to serious about our selves ?

Text to The YouTube video:
[quote]There is an increase in the number of people diagnosed with aspergers syndrome. Scientist wonder why, and so did I, until now! I have discovered one thing that gives Aspies an edge in the evolutionary race. ;-)

If anyone wants to use this (t-shirt)design for real, please give 10% of your profit to help autist´s and asperger´s have a better life. Thanx.

Video was removed by the author. It was inappropriate, now that we have young people reading this forum. Sorry. Send me a PM, if you want to find it.

Maybe you all hate me by now, but ...so be it.
Who can make a Cartoon Brain-burger or something less self-conscious?
Just asking?
Let´s see some examples of what you actually want it to look like and talk about that.
Else, we end up talking for a hundred pages and nothing happens.

You know what? The first image that comes to my attention is that of the jews having to wear stars on their sleeves during the Third Reich. Look, we are not diseased individuals who need to be labeled like the Nazi's thought of the jews. I am witnessing an increased amount of shenanigans and stunts by the autism community, such as "aspie-pride", theories about autists being descendants of Atlantians and god knows what else.
If anything, it only aids in the reinforcement of negative stereotypes and stigmas.

The only way to make the public aware of our capabilities and wonderful potential as equal human beings is to prove that we are not some nutcases that need to be labeled with something. It is not a disease - but merely a difference in function. To blow it out of proportion by attaching to it some symbol makes it a disease on the same level as those which the inspiration such a symbol came from in the first place: Cancer, AIDS and other diseases.

Hey, that reminds me - doesn't the GLBT prink triangle originate from the Nazis? I visited an ex-concentration camp in Germany where they had a tower to commemorate the different types of people that were imprisoned there, with different-coloured triangles. It wasn't only the Jews who had a symbol; I think that there was a black triangle for gypsies, or was it the disabled? And a pink triangle for gays.

Anyway, you make a good argument. In your opinion, should gays not have their own symbol either? I suppose it's just a different way of looking at things; people often like to have a symbol or logo so that they can display it proudly and show that they are, for example, gay, or autistic. But you could equally argue that it lumps those things in with cancer and what have you. However, I don't think that having a symbol for Asperger's would make people automatically think 'OMG it must be a DISEASE'. All sorts of causes and groups of people throughout time have had a symbol. It is the disease-curing charities who are jumping on that bandwagon rather than the other way around.

What about a stylised 'A', as appears in the logo of the Asperger society here?

I "see", before my minds eye, an 'A' With a little person trapped inside the triangle, symbolizing that we are hole persons on the inside, but having difficulties expressing, what/who we are. A=asperger is preventing us from doing so.

I bet we have some artists in here, who can do it better, but now you can see what I mean!

Maybe, the person should be breaking or bending the 'A', signalizing that he/she is trying to get out? How about an animated logo, doing all kinds of things?

I've thought of that, in fact I already have an image drawn up for another Aspie community forum website that I'm planning on launching sometime in the next few months.

I agree, that in itself is not a bad idea.. I,myself can't think of a particular symbol which could be adopted and used to illustrate those with Aspergers..

I also like the multi-colored infinity knot. I submitted an airbrush version to Aspies for Freedom some time ago, which they still offer on T-Shirts at CafePress (I think that's the name). The image I did is from a photo of an airbrush painting I did on a vehicle, using the rainbow-infinity symbol. Here's a picture of the whole painting, with the "infinity" symbol floating in space in the center:
