Please take the time to read through completely, as you would see I did so as a precautionary measure given past history in these situations. Further, a public request was made as a reminder to follow the site rules; no one was banned, no one was disciplined in any manner. So where's your beef? And no, not the Wendy's advert.

No, I don't think you don't understand the concept of this thread? **Facepalm**

None of this is an attack to any members on WP and this is the "Autism Politics, Activism, and Media Representation" not the regular part of the forums.

Here is what it says about personal attacks.
Quote:
2. Personal attacks.
This includes insinuation, ridicule and personal insults, regardless of whether direct or indirect. Attacking an opinion, belief or philosophy is acceptable, but attacking the person making the comments is not.

Attacking an opinion, belief or philosophy is acceptable as it seems on the rule book.

It seems you was confused about what I have underlined if you get what I'm saying, I'm I correct on this?

No, Ian - no confusion on my part, though it seems you are both confused and misled if you believe you're more familiar with those rules. WP's rules and the issues surrounding them are part of a 400+ pg discussion, and the warning had been meted out within the thread as a precaution before things really got out of hand. Just as has been standard practice for some time, and condoned by Alex. Unfortunately, that seems to have embarrassed some people involved in this instance. Oh well.

Where in the rules does it say that attacks on people are only offensive if those members should happen to be members of WrongPlanet?

Where does it say that the rules are to applied differently in this particular forum?

Fair enough, you've proven my point Lau.

I'll just say I personally want nothing to do with any "actions" you may take against him.

I hate censorship; you all doing what you're doing is equal to censorship in my opinion.

So what you are saying is that he can talk about other people, get nasty about it, use us as a scapegoat, and it's called "free speech."

However when we talk about him and express our displeasure at him for using us in a derogatory manor then it is called "censorship?"

I fail to see the logic.

Well, I can see a couple rather glaring differences... it appears that he is speaking his mind on his own blog - his own property, as it were - whereas this conversation is on a privately and personally owned site by Alex Plank. Freedom of speech includes both the right to set up you own soapbox and the option to not listen at all; it doesn't give someone else the right to enter your property without permission to proclaim their views, or the right to take another person's soapbox as your own without regard to their wishes. His opinion, as distasteful as I might find it, is largely address at his (mis)understanding of a condition and the perception of it; at times, this thread thratened to veer into direct attack on the person who was making the comments. That behavior is expressly mentioned in the rules as being unacceptable.

Free speech is a right, a responsibility, and a matter of discretion. If Alex chooses, he can remove this post, he can even delete my account. With no contract between us, anything that anyone posts on WP is equal to conditionally permitted graffiti.

That's pretty convoluted but I think your saying that this is Alex' private site, he approved this thread, but you keep complaining here and in other threads that Alex did what he wanted to do on his own site. So again you send mixed signals. But alas you are performing the art of filibuster to keep this approved thread from going anywhere. Carry on while we watch. Let me get some popcorn first.

If Alex chooses not to follow his own rules, that is his choice. What he does is his choice, and given that it is his property that is his decision. As a moderator, I warned Alex and the other moderators when they began to cross over the rules, and this is no different. Just because someone has the right to do a thing, however, does not make that the right thing to do. To extend this, however - it is his site, and his actions don't condone the actions of others. To make the comparison, if you choose to go nude in your own home, that is not a carte blanche invitation for others to do the same. You seem not to have read my post, so I will invite you to read what I wrote again.

No one is keeping you from your conversation; if you don't like what I have to say, then skip over my posts.
