The scary thing is some people do. But I can see how a science fiction author writing about aliens and spaceships could be perceived as religious truth. Imagine my surprise when I tried to book a flight to Tatooine and was told Ewoks don't really exist 8O George Lucas, you dirty liar! :D

Years ago I was working @ the UK base of Scientology. We were having our Tea break and a hippy type guy wandered in and tried to engage us - a group of builders !- in some kind of meaningful discussion . An old guy with us said to hippy, " I knew Ron Hubbards Mum " Wow says the hippy. Yeah says our old guy . "I knew Old Mother Hubbard "   Last we saw of any of them - Brit Humour Rules

Scientologists would object to your joking and degrading.

Yes, they would find it terrible to ever make jokes about a "religion" which charges it's members entrances fees, claims to have cures to incurable diseases, claims the entirety of all psychological research (backed up by decades of cutting edge scientific studies, successful cases, biochemistry and the successful treatment of conditions such as Bipolar disorder or OCD which had been incurable even a century back) and their believe that their faith must for some reason be guarded in secrecy to it's own members.

But more importantly understand that this is an organization that has claimed to cure Autism, which we all know is a complete lie. As such anyone who supports such a ground is giving support to liars who would put children in harms way so they could claim how much good their doing in the world.

As they are slowly exposed for what they are the organization continues to use their vast monetary and legal resources to silence and distort the truth. That they are nothing more than a cult constructor by a failed science fiction writer.

Beware of scientology full stop. I walked into a scientology book shop one day because I was genuinely interested in it and the people working there had a strange attitude. They seemed highly suspicious of me for some reason and had a kind of "what the hell are you doing here?" attitude. In fact this is the exact same thing that happened when I walked into a freemason temple and asked them if I could join. Scientologists and freemasons don't seem to like me.

definition of scientologists: morons who can't tell the difference between reality and science fiction, worshippers of the false religion, scientology, created by failing science fiction writer, l. ron hubbard (aka l. bong Crackhead)
