sounds like someone needs to play sockpuppet...

I bet you if someone got on there and described how horrible their life was in graphic detail, they'd feature it loud and clear.

"Dad, someday, I wanna be banned from autism speaks to"
"You'll do great son"

I've been banned from two sites, one fascist site one marxist site.

Wow. I signed up on their site so I could see whats up with it and discovered they have an entire anti-vax forum. Has no one told them there is no connection between vaccines and autism?

I've just signed up muhahaha.

I want to join the community, because I'm longing for a cure and I know that Autism Speaks is searching for one.

Which is an obvious lie. I'll be changing it to more successful things later..

OK, I'm in! I'm updating my "Share your s**t" to:

"I have a job which is well paid. I'm extremely high functioning, I rarely stim, I can speak 3 languages, the sound of a cure offends me a lot. Ban me from here and I will spread the truth of Autism Speaks. You speak s**t."

I await to see what will happen xD

Hello everybody,
I'll repeat what I said to other posts like this:
- doesn't exist a cure for autism and "experts" are not able to find it because have to open their mind first and understand what autism means. How can you understand someone you observe like he was a non-human being?

- when they will understand (and it will be thanks to autistic people who would like to speak about their condition) they will still be light years away from the cure, if cure is in the field of the domain of possible things

- NT parents need to believe in something and someone takes advantage of them. Vaccines occur when first symptoms occur and it's too easy to reach a conclusion, even if it's not proven. I know it well as parent.

- Parents don't like to be contradicted by a gifted and successful aspie because they think that he is not autistic, not as their child is, so he can't speak for their child. A dialogue based on this assumptions is not possible.

^^^ You are making sense. They do not like it when people make sense because it may break their spell of ignorance.

- you must understand it before you can cure it. Science doesn't understand the brain in general more or less in any specific way. They are still a long way off from the most basic of answers. Working for a cure is noble but perhaps a bit hasty.

- the vaccine issue is so divided that no one can even hear the word without polarizing into for/against camps. There may be a third option. People need to stop equating all outward symptoms as one condition just because they are similar. Someone with brain damage may exhibit autistic like symptoms but they are not autistic. They need to make sure all these kids with these supposed vaccine symptoms are actually autistic and not suffering from something else that appears like it. If its not A and it's not B... then there needs to be a C,D,E or X,Y,Z. Most autistic brain show identifiable differences on MRI. Maybe a standard medically based dx for autism is the first start.

- Parents are scared. Autism Speaks plays into that in the most reprehensible ways. I think many of them are afraid to let themselves have hope. False hope in a cure does NOTHING here and now. A successful autistic mentor should be a welcomed thing - not look at with suspicion. I can see where the parent of a non verbal low functioning child may not see the similarities to a high functioning successful Aspie but treating their child like an empty shell isn't the answer either. We need an agency that trains and matches autistic mentors to families with child with similar autistic expression. All people on the spectrum are good at the same thing - understanding their autism. That knowledge needs to be shared in a large scale way.

Simply collecting peoples money on potential pipe dreams isn't going to help anyone.

The person likely got banned because they get email, phone calls and political confrontation from people that say something similar often. It's like saying I have a disability but I am not disabled by it when an organization agenda is to improve the "condition" and outcome of individuals. Why would they if the DSM for instance says something along the lines that the disorder creates a substantial impairment in functioning in life why would they want to promote the idea it does not?
